Rocking a 3366 and 20cm/360. Everything feels snappy and perfect. Most consistent sensor I've used since the MS IME 3.0 one.

I'd even go so far to say it's the best sensor ever made and people trying to find inconsistencies with it are just try hard sub-par aimers with too much time on their hands.

Ya it doesnt sound right that the 3366 would have any accel. What was your experience with the 3310?

The 3310 was also very solid, maybe had a slight bit of smoothing but I played years on it with a G400s and loved that mouse/shape. Also 3310 performance is nowhere near 3366 imo. Night/day. Everything feels right with this sensor.

G400s was Avago ADNS 3095 sensor, and it had way more smoothing with the higher dpi firmware compared to the earlier G400. 3310 in Zowie mice was a noticeable improvement over the G400s.

or if you feel differently about it, by all means show anything that remotely resembles proof.

+1 to this. The sensor that was proven to have smoothing was the 3090, not the 3095 - too many people confuse them.

They felt different, I adjusted sens to take into account the slightly different dpi between the 2 mice (one measured as 405dpi and the other 415dpi), but they still felt different. Maybe the g400 was more reliable at dumping half the counts as opposed to the g400s. But no, i have no proof other than how they felt.

As i remember it the 3095 sensor was a 3090 with a custom lens and illumination package, just called a '3095' as it was a Logitech only sensor solution.

I can't argue that they felt different, because I haven't used your mice :-)

But there's no reason to assume it's smoothing. It could even be as simple as a difference in mouse feet.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least something was different about the tracking though, they messed around with the SROM after all; but no that measurement that I've seen indicated smoothing.

Sensor in IME 3.0 and Mx-510 are in my opinion 2nd to the 3366.

3310 comes on a third place for me.

Describe What u mean by nowhere near the 3366? Were u able to notice "accel" on the 3310? I remember the g9x and not noticing the "accel" at very first, but then realizing the difference in various movements (compared to sensors in the IME 3.0 and mx300 wen clocked to 500hz+); its not exactly like real accel but the movement has variance that isnt normal and it was very noticeable after a while

Smoothing is basically just mouse lag. Some mice are more snappier than others because of less processing. Don't go down this rabbit hole, the 3366/3360 is good enough and you won't become better looking for the perfect sensor. The shape and weight of a mouse is more important.

Actually the 3366 sensor is not only good enough, it is still the best sensor available atm, no smoothing, no accel, everything is perfect

I was talking about how some people believe the mlt04 has less smoothing. In those regards maybe it is true but people shouldn't go down this rabbit hole because the 3366/3360 is good enough.

It's called srav and it's in every mouse. Unlike positive or negative accel it is related to the rotation of the mouse. Since we have managed to get rid of smoothing in the newer gen mice the only major advancement we can make from here on technologically is to have a mouse that gets rid of all accuracy variance.

What is the difference between srav and positive/neg accel? From my understanding they are used in this context to refer to the same thing. Also what exactly is smoothing? I remember researching these mice a couple years bak but not really seeing these terms (just ec, angle snap, "accel" which isnt exactly real accel)

From my understanding basically when you rotate your mouse a lot it's never 1 - 1 mouse movement. There is some inconsistency and mouse manufacturers use sensor related accuracy variance (SRAV) to fix this. SRAV is not like positive or negative acceleration, but varies around the middle. The new 3366/3360 sensors have the lowest SRAV according to some reviews from overclock.net mice geeks. I don't know about g300, ask the people on overclock.net, their opinions are often anecdotal but usually accurate anyway. Thx alot. I thought it was "speed related accuracy variance"? So if its done with a robot that can move the mouse perfectly in a straight line there wont be any srav? And the tests need to be done with a humans arm/wrist motion that twists the mouse a little during movement?

Any idea or knowledge what the SRAV would be on old favorite mice like the wmo/imo and mx300 then? For example i thought there would be no SRAV on the wmo sensor until moving the mouse at 1.5+meters/sec (@1000hz) because that was its threshold for perfect control speed, if SRAV and accel were the same thing.

Yea i think your right, it's speed related accuracy variance. Some of the things i'm saying could be wrong but so your better off making a thread on oc.net to double check but i think i have the gist of it right.

I am using a 3366 sensor and I do not experience any acceleration at all. It's accurate and smooth on my end.

This thread has made me consider PWM 3366 sensor if my Intellimouse explorer 3.0 ever dies. I just don't know what mice comes with it one and the closest match to the shape since everything these days is made for small hands.
