According to the schedule, I think we will see 6 matches from the groups (1 from each).

I know we all want to see the big clashes (Rapha-Clawz, Cooller-Tox, etc..), but I hope that they also show some of the matches that have the potential to be decisive, like the matches in between the people who are presumed to finish 2nd and 3rd of the group, although that might be hard to predict.

6 matches? a fucking joke

we used to have one and a half day of group stage where we would miss maybe 2 or 3 matches we wanted to see just because they were going at the same time as some other match folks were waiting for

and it was already in time of QL - recession

what the hell happened? what's the point of having so many good players in the rooster if viewers are not going to see most of them anyway

Yeah, it's a shame... The thing is these matches are pretty long. Often the rounds go overtime, so a single map can sometimes last like 20 minutes.

In consequence they have allotted 1h15 per match, so since there is one day for groups, we get to see 6 duel matches, and 3 sacrifice matches. So that's still 11h30 of coverage for duel/sacrifice groupstage, which isn't bad, but not many matches shown unfortunately.

oh well, looks like I was so triggered about the number I forgot to do the math ;)

still 1h 15 looks like bit much, I like the Q3 soundtrack during the intermissions so yeah let's hope they will stick with it

on other hand it makes me even more annoyed they havent thought of adressing the more and more obvious issues with duel earlier on; there's so much they could do: inviting pro duelers to voice their opinion before the cbt1, try to do some adjustments in first months of beta (the qualifiers started by end of june, so I think that leaving the duel as it is by end of may would be reasonable to give competitors the time necessary to prepare); trying to do something in between quakecon and dreamhack....

now we are about to wrap up the first year of events that were suposed to promote the game with 2 modes that are so massiely flawed both gameplay and specatating - wise for so many reasons I just wont bother to name any of them, IMO the damage is massive and a quick look at steamcharts will prove my point

And out of 12 that advance in total, ~~4 of them~~ 8 of them will have to play an extra play-off round. The ones that have the worst map/round win-loss difference, I'm guessing.

You're completely right, some lack of calculation in my mind when I typed that. I just assumed that to go from "round of 12" to "round of 8" you just need 4 people in the round of 12, when you actually need 8.

So, yeah, 4 out of the 6 top finishers will get a pass.

A: voo & cypher (he's been down in the dumps a bit too long I guess)

C: raisy & pikawa
D: tox & cooller
E: clawz & rapha
F: av3k & dahang

I don't really think that it's possible for evil (if he's going to participate) to change outcome of any of those groups, although I'd be too cool to see him dominate once again.

One of the favorites said on twitch chat that yesterday he was beating literally everyone, And the day after he lost to Rapha, Cypher and Dooi.

Those who will show their peak game will win.

Raisy, killsen, voo and clawz are the men to beat after ESWC and Denver where they were top with this patch going already.
