go check it. when I read the patch notes, thought that it was a typo or something, but it's real. 520 holding forward, 480 with strafes.

When it's got to that stage...I feel you can't really call this a quake game, where strafing is not the most viable base method of movement.

Its horrible, you strafe jump jump once or twice and hold forward and it builds up to 520, the problem is, you're then stuck to the floor so you eat everything and you need a small runway to get up to speed which is hard in your average team or FFA based game., there's no reason to play the character which is a shame as he and galena were the only two I really liked in the game.

If existing quakers were not playing this game it would be as dead as law breakers. They really need to be careful because the movement mechanic of quake was the only thing which kept quakers playing it over others.

it made all fps games without it appear bad, you get rid of that, and you either stop playing FPS, play something else, or just make yourself miserable playing what you know is a half assed version.

All they had to do for this build was to address slash, anarki, fix LG/NG and then they were like...

Pro pro tip: Use strafe jump to accelerate to 480, then use +forward to get to 520. That way you can be fast and aim at the same time.

Accelerating with strafe jump is waaaay more faster than with just +forward, with strafe jump you can get to 520 very fast.

Learn how to play. Strafe jump is not dead.

It's not only for noobs, and it works pretty good. You still accelerate way more faster with strafe jump, and you should use strafe jump to accelerate to 480, and then +forward to 520. That way you can shoot while moving fast.

Sensitivity is now saved in 0.25 increments. 1.1 gives you 1.0, 1.2 gives 1.25, 1.4 gives 1.5, and so on. Had to set my sensitivity manually in config files.

There was an opportunity for casting, and I sold myself to Dreamhack and ESL via the interview process and was able to get an opportunity despite having zero experience. They took a chance that I would do OK with live casting. There was no guarantee of anything, and again: I don't have input on development or tournaments. In short: I saw an opportunity to get involved again with something I have passion for (esports) and took it. It could have been CS:GO or Magic the Gathering Online events, and I would do the same thing. I enjoy esports, period. I feel fortunate I had some small part to play in the start of esports, and enjoy being involved.

We have increased player stacks coming which will increase TTK, the 30 second change to health/small armor was very much needed, as recovery from damage was too easy. The game is more or less QL with Champions (the initial testing was a QL mod FYI), a stronger RL, and a different engine.

i can see how you can interpret it that way without the context of makaveli's past comments. i was just referencing some of what he said in that thread. my intent was solely to make fun of makaveli, not quake champions. you can see that he's a good sport about it. remember everybody: makaveli enjoys when people single him out and joke about things he says.

just to mention a couple of nice baby like bugs (if babies were programming) that I came across

- on custom game playing alone was reading ppl saying gg from other games
- on stats screen, it displays doom's stats as keels (probably they forgot to update, whatever needed to be updated for that screen to display properly). In a well designed game, devs can probably add champions and not worry for stuff like that, but we are talking about QC here.

ps: on leader boards where it displays the fav champs, where we see keel is probably doom

that's because he doesn't actually fire a shot. if you watch his clip his rail ammo stays at 23. there's a strange "jerk" after he appears to shoot too, something weird happened but it wasn't hitbox/registration related, not that that makes it any better.

I saw both players POV video, I have to assume it was packet loss on Clutch's side tbh.

I was a scalebearer fan, now not so much, I mean capping his movement when strafing to just holding down the +forward, that's like literally unlearning years of strafe jumping skill and now implementing it in bursts, quick strafe to max speed followed by +forward. It defeats the object when you're chasing someone because if you're trying to stay at max speed holding forward in on it's own is going to make you even easier to hit, you can't use little movement changes to dodge etc.

Has anyone made sure yet that the lg fix is not parkinsons lg again? Wouldn't be that surprised...

I have a hard time seeing the necessity for an LG fix that was presented when new hitboxes are supposed to arrive in january. Then id will have to go through the whole process again...

What they did in this patch is widen the shaft. When new hitboxes come they can revert it in 2 minutes if they want.

game is finally playable for me, its far from perfect but HUGE improvement.
also, did anyone else notice "instant" 500 ups with sorlag? hold down duck, jump and w and you're going 500 ups i a second, so easy to quickly gain speed. also crazy using it when going up a jpad, i have not used a single cj with sorlag in this patch

I could also reproduce that crouch accel on Anarki, BJ and Galena. +50ish forward ups boost if you're airborne, pressing forward, having forward momentum, under the speed cap, or something like that -not exactly sure on the conditions.

Dont think love actually exists outside obvious, hardcoded things like mother-child relationships. Friendship is much more substantial I think.
