I was going through the main characters on the Discovery the other day... And I was not able to find one, single male heterosexual Caucasian?
Yes, there is the captain. But he's Jewish. And lots of Jews insists they are a separate race from the rest of us. (not sure if my DNA magically changes if I convert to Judaism). So I'm not counting the captain either at this point.
So, esdf seems to have a point. The main characters are all 'minorities' (yeah, women count as minorities now, too, even though there are more women on the planet than men).
The nerdy redhead chick suddenly got super hot once they entered that alternate Universe, though, huh?
It's kinda reasonable to expect a lot more of mixedrace and a lot less of "pures" in a couple of hundred years from now in a society with such level of globalization. Not saying there's no agenda whatsoever behind the casting
Discovery is garbage. They somehow have a lot of crucial thechology which those after them (TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager) didn't have. It's just fucking retarded, feels like it's written by people who never watched the rest of the franchise
Agree.
It might seem like an original concept, but what they really did was steal Marvel's Lockjaw, change the beast a little, put it in Star Trek, create a cheesy story around it and try to sell it to me.
And I've even watched 5 or 6 episodes.
And I don't even like the main character, the black dude Michael, which is really a female.
Cheap Star Trek writing bastards.
But I didn't pay anything, I didn't.
Well, I pay for some monthly subscription I guess, but that money goes to Stranger Things.
Also, I'm not drunk, I think.
