I'm not sure that even a more refined VR could actually take over to the masses. Not in 10 years at least. People will still get sick. Glasses will still be a problem. Lack of tactile feedback will still be a problem. Lack of inertial response will still be disorienting and immersion breaking.

There can't technically be a realistic way to walk around that doesn't require a huge room.

All the other gimmicks are just unpractical and uncomfortable gimmicks (the thing you walk on with special socks, etc)

None of those huge fundamental issues can be fixed with current or fuure technology.

The only way to fix them all for good is direct brain input, but for that we're talking 30 years from now and more.

Until then, i'm afraid VR will remain more or less of a niche. It was already supposed to take over.

We will be shitposting about Tim's new game, Quake Generations. It is released only on Xbox-Next and has the fallout boy just like he wanted.
