ow is not a bad game at all.

He even played some QL here and there while not training for the 1-2 tournaments. After 17+ years of q3/cpma/ql he still played some... yeah, because he have a respect for the game and enjoys it, even if on small dosages after so many years spent on it. QC doesn't bring that emotions and pleasure and normally - he doesn't play it at all if not for the money/tournament.

Cooller has the potential to be an esport superstar nowadays with his arrogant charisma, meme-ish egomania, good-looking and talent and shit but there are certain problems that wont let him achieve that, I'm afraid.

I would formulate it like this:
- he's egomaniac who is not sure of himself.

That may sound like a controversy, but i believe its true.

if you are a top guy, you must have a huge ego, otherwise you wouldn't have the motivation.

But all these years when Anton could not succeed must have been damaging to his ego. Now he's egocentric as he never been, but he doesn't believe in himself at the same time.

He could not and doesn't want to train in his full force, because he simply lost the faith in himself and believes that he's too old now, or else. Thats why he has that "this is only a game, i don't give a fuck" attitude while he's spending all his life playing these only-a-games.

And he's got that strange mindset about training. He always was very fragile when somebody accused him of "jerking" (i.e. training too much) and tried to pretend that he's such a talent he doesn't even need to have a proper work ethics.

For example, Rapha always plays at his full force, trying to be better than he is. While Cooller always tries only to be slightly better than his opponent.

So. Now he's playing like he's TOO GOOD and does not even tries hard, while he's not near that good.

And he's shitty and toxic (literally, not in a good, swedish sense) teammate, so he's doomed to play with the weaker players, because nobody wants him(

I only saw happy cooller once. It was in 2011, 7 years ago, when he won an Intel Extreme Masters 5 European Championship in Kiev. He got 1st place and was shining as a new nickel.

And in OW he is not a top-player now. Yes, he did won a title with Misfits, i'm aware of that. Afaik, he is not even in top-500 now. The rating could change, of course. But the worse part is that from what i heard he is not welcome in many top-teams because of toxic character and the habit of cursing and blaming his teammates for everything(

I don't want to belittle cooller in any way. And was even betting on him at the last tourneys which costed me some real money. Because i wanted him to win. I came uo with the chain of thoughts above as i was thinking for some time how the guy with such a talent is not an esport elite.

About OW: An individual ranking for a team game is always dumb and more about adapting to noobs. But yea, hes got a bad reputation for his toxicity, but I think hes just really tryhard (as opposed to your "he just doesnt wanna try anymore" theory)

And winning $30,000 in one videogames tournament is something to always be celebrated, especially in Quake's case. Those 30k are more than what any first place had won in Quake in the past maybe 15 years.

Here's his famous interview, in which Anton claims he quits the professional gaming, regrets he chose an esport in the first place, saying he could have achieved more in other spheres and finally discourages the youth from going into esports, saying that cybersport is "cyberbullshit". Doesnt sound like a very satisfied cybersportsman to me.

And about his bitterness - just watch his streams and interviews. When asked how he spend time on some lan (qcon or dh) besides gaming, how did he hooked up, Anton said that hes got no friends in quake community because everybodys just enviyng him and his accomplishments. His very words. Thats what i call pure 100% bitterness.
For example, his famous "im watching you" is a direct result of cooller being suspicious other pro-players will not only cheer against him but an assumption that some of them would help avek somehow - whisper him an idea where cooller hides or something. This really illustrates how he thinks about his esport colleages and their attitude towards him.

Coollers not an easy teammate to play with.

- And he's got this very unpleasant story with his ex-teammate latrommi, who said anton first declined to play sac with him and other 102 members and then latrommi got another team and they started to become a real force, cooller accused lattrommi of being a traitor. latrommi was really offended while he was talking about it after their victory on qcon. Thats some classy sportsmanship from cooller towards his ex-teammate.

- And from what i heard he got kicked out of a few ow teams (anox and misfits) and one of the reasons was his character. i dunno shit about ow and i dont want to, but this is what i heard.

- Last, i saw myself on his stream how he really could be an ass even when playing some totaly insignificant pubg for fun with mixes. When something gets wrong, he shouts on his teammates, cussing on them, blaming them for everything. And that was them just chilling out, not really training to accomplish something.

1) - Cooller stayed 7 years without winning a major lane. But tell me: did quake have a wide variety of tournaments and majors during this period? Quake is not counter-strike or starcraft2, man! There is a gigantic difference! The amount of Q3/QL tournaments held for 1 year is equivalent to almost 3 months of CS tournaments. And there is not only cooller as a top-level competitor, I do not even need to mention it.

Cooller also said a personal opinion about living like a cyber-athlete! Do you think it's worth playing your life out for esports? Will you be able to be a rich and successful man playing only quake? Would you want this for young people ?? Tournaments where they do not even pay the cyberatletas in a punctual way (and when they do not give default ...). Do not act like an idiot here, let's face it!

And about him not having friends on this branch, this is commonplace in any area. Would you like to interact with arrogant and petty people who speak ill of you and show no respect even when you turn away in a toxic and competitive environment? Cooller is no one person love when interacting with his rivals, because most pro-players are a bunch of jerks. Not everyone has the personality of Rapha or CZM.
