The constant flickering and weird movements can be caused by interpolation as well as the "fps bug" that caused flickering when a players upload was higher than the server could handle properly.


With all that said..

esr doesnt support timestamps -_-
this is from the same game, there were no sound queues to point toward him going there and he timed it to a T when karwick was inside the arch/hallway and it looked like he was jumping toward 25 bubbles.


Don't confuse this as base panicing through the teleporter as he was ready to shoot into the hallway, and he would have caught out karwick completely if karwick hadn't turned around.

You can find a ton more of these situations happening with base and some others.

What should be really telling about base is the fact that he constantly loses track of players the moment they are out of his POV (with him flailing to find them again regardless if they are on screen or not).


If anyone really cares you can go ahead and look at every VOD of base playing and you will find certain vods incredibly suspicious.
This is sadly true for a lot of players with the majority being either low level QL duellers or complete unknowns to the scene.

I will admit that this is actually very suspicious but we do need to fully rule out spectator clientside discrepancies - QC has pretty fucked up netcode. But those crosshair movements are also highly abnormal in my opinion.

1st example: you notice that the crosshair does actually track with the model a small way as the model flies over the bridge.

2nd example: the framerate of the video doesnt help here but it does appear to show the crosshair snapping perfectly to the model for a fraction of a second.

Watched the video till the very end and saw nothing that looked like cheats.

Was kinda disappointed, actually.

I'm with you on this one. The most interesting aspect of QC is just how bad it is and the extent players are willing to go to to obtain dollars. The bad production, endless fundamental bugs, awkward interviews definitely put it in the so-bad-it's-good category.

To clarify, I'm not making a judgment one way or another about Base potentially cheating. When he initially got VAC banned, and the subsequent weird/shady stuff that happened with that, my impression was that he was probably using some hacks and tried to cover his tracks.

However, he returned to participating in 125fps. I think there was a lot more scrutiny on him after his VAC ban. I know I was very scrutinous of his playing after that, looking for anything that could be identifiably hacks. But out of all those broadcasted games, I didn't see anything that was definitively cheaty. He still played at the same level, though. So, after that, I was more "on the fence" with regards to whether he cheats or not.

As far as what is in this thread, it's hard to call it definitive, conclusive evidence. It does look fishy, and maybe adds to the probability a bit that he could be using cheats, but I would not call it case closed. First, QC is buggy af. Who knows if what we're seeing is a QC spec bug issue? Alternatively,you can see that mouse behavior when a mouse is being lifted and lowered again on a mousepad.

My reply to garz was just being cheeky about ESR mob mentality about these things. Do I think a cheater should be allowed to participate in a community? No, of course not. But I also don't think your case is 100% absolutely conclusive evidence (a la Sombra's infamous self-ownage). If Base is cheating, evidence will continue to accumulate and added to the videos above. The weight of evidence will bring him down eventually, if he does.

I think #32 is on to something, it probably stems from spectator lag together with interpolation of the game, in other words technical reasons.
tbh I cannot imagine a cheat producing that behavior, every confirmed cheat I ever saw looked different.

He's been hacking for years. Remember in lead up to Qcon a few years ago he had a great series in 125FPS vs cooller which I think Cooller barely won. He was obviously hacking whole time. I remember he LG a near full stack cooller to death on the red armor jump... was kind of obvious before that happened but whatever. Cooller knew he was hacking. All of Russia knew. So Cooller hacked that match as well. But whatever. Small dick quake players need ego boosts I guess.
