Duel is MEH. Might be better to have a single use ability per character. Would make it more pure and still keep the gimmicky aspect they are determined to show off.

Performance is questionable. Runs ok for me, but issues of rockets not regging and sometimes abilities, dire orbs, punches (DS) hitting you when they should not, shows this game has tech issues they seem unable to solve. Its not a deal breaker, but it will f**k you from time to time.

FFA is fun, but often too spammy and overpowered doom slayer and visor (mostly thanks to starting with(150/25) have too many advantages...
Could be fixed easy by, removing NG from starting weapon, reduce visor and doom slayer start stack to 125/25, move the LG gun to more vulnerable points of the map. Have multiple spawn locations for power up to add more variety. EZ, but they seems to take ages to do the right thing i.e anarki and clutch.

Instagib is decent, but dented somewhat with abilities. Visor seems the obvious choice.

2v2 seems the best mode.

Never liked Sacrifice so won't comment.

new map is pretty good (sarnath theme) but too cramped for FFA.
But with my changes this would improve things by 15-20 percent.

Did not like the lockbox themed duel map, too cramped.

Its probably 15% better than it was before xmas. Anarki and Clutch are not really terrorizing half as much.

FFA is not as quaddy as before as its 2 quads and 2 protection.

Oh and some genius decided to remove/hide the scoreboard from FFA too which shows they are capable of anything.

Nah, because those with bigger hit boxes will lose off the spawn, max stack seldom matters in FFA (biggest mode), as you seldom play with any kind of consistent ability to obtain mega and armour So for a medium like visor and doom slayer to be more effective off the spawn than certain tanks is not right. It flat out proves the character class in the game is not right atm and it might never be, but it can be better before its written off, but their rate of progress seems slow and brute forced.

Personally I would prefer it if they just give everyone the same hit box, stack and just left the abilities, models, sounds. Tone down some of the more powerful abilities like NYX/CLUTCH/VISOR and you would have something which feels more consistent, runs better and still an evolution.

You don't have to put 15 toppings on a pizza for it to be good.

i've played ffa in ql since it came out.
I never play ffa in QC because i fucking hate it.

Strangely, It got really better and smoother. (Still shittier than ql obviously in terms of responsibility).

And the balance is improving too, though, getting rid of slash and snarky was too much (need to add 15 hp to slash and improve anarki's speed). I miss Sorlag too - maybe just got her spit improved.

And still QL is a way better game.

Yup - Someone here finally giving the Real reason why this title is where it is.

i like it. it works smooth for me. awoken is crowded a bit on 4v4... but the way to go is 2v2, ranked matchmaking is good, noobs fear it, so there are a lot of tight matches.


and those who fear doom and his punchkicks, they need to aim better with lg, nailgun or even rockets.

It's seems they've produced something the consumers don't want.
Even their own fan base doesn't want it.

Seems to be against what the market wanted though. Sure heros are popular but were talking an arena shooter without all the horseshit. Maybe its time to stop doing what the market thinks is cool and just shove some good shit down their throats for once. That million dollar tournament with an actual quake game would have been golden.

Played today for the first time in months. You still jerk around when a rocket hits you. It just doesn't feel right. I'm curious if they a) can fix this issue without redoing a lot of stuff b) care to throw enough resources at it to fix it.

It's pretty sad, because really, that's a critical part for Quake.

Yea I played yesterday for first time since in 6 months or so. Definitely agree with rockets feeling completely fucked in both shooting them and even more so in getting hit by them. I will say rail and lg actually feel pretty good, regardless of ping. This is sad for me because I came to be reliant on my RL in my later days of QL, and I enjoyed having good RL play more than hitscan. I don't think they have the resources to fix it properly...

I uninstalled a long time ago and have no intention of ever reconsidering.

The engine is still terrible and they decided to sacrifice world consistency for hit detection. Now hit detection is client side, with a tiny bit of server side verification so you get shot around corners, pulled back when hit by RL shots, LG has often registered 40dmg by the time your client decides to inform you etc. Servers are also often overloaded, which causes laggy and unpredictable movement.

They have slowed the whole game down and right now only a few champions are good to use. Mostly mid size and health champions. E.g galena, visor and doomslayer. The light champs have so slow movement and low stack that they are at a major disadvantage it anything outside of long range hitscan fights and the large champs just melt by lg and are railed to shreds. Champion pick right now is "who has decent speed and stack, medium size at most and the most obnoxious ability".

Game modes is pretty much the same and just the most basic quake modes in addition to the little played sacrifice. Not much to write home about in terms of fun. This game desperately needs mod support so the community could make the game fun to play.

TL:DR dev team is low on talent and unable to make a competent technical design, game design is aimed at the overwatch crowd and the game just isn't very good.
