Not a browser game but I recommend playing Guild Wars 1.

Runs fine on an onboard and it's great fun playing together for 100's if not 1000's of hours.

Does the game still have a healthy playerbase otherwise?

The game is pretty much dead. But the complete game over all 4 campaigns are fully playable together and with extra NPC henchmen or heroes.

There are still people playing the elite PvE missions and there is a crowd that PvP's but it's nothing compared to when it was active.

Lot of people moved over to GW II and that game is active. But many people agree that GW 1 was the superior game.

If you start to play it right now you'll never really feel the amazing feeling this game gave when it first came out and was active. It'll still be a nice experience, but it'll feel more like a singleplayer/co-op game than a MMO.

Still recommended though if low specs is what you're running on.

If you guys decide to play Guild Wars, I'll search for a guild that harbors and helps beginners, so you won't feel totally confused about what to do or what to expect. The people that are left are friendly, mature and helpful and would love to see new faces.

there's small, but active community. You can check out some streamers like /girlwars etc for pvp.

Anyway, game's great. I might play it again some time, still didn't gear up my mesmer :D
