If you want a good FPS mouse from logitech, look at the g403, G pro, g203, g303.

It all the mice most players will ever need.
If not that, look at Zowie.

I'm not even looking at new mice anymore. Find something with a nice shape and sensor (and one which is well regarded by experts) and just use it and stick with it.

On the G Pro Wireless: basically a good mouse (having it for almost a week now for a test), pretty light, sensor is ok, even though the lg feels a bit weird with it, and (I never thought I will write something like this) the Lightspeed wireless connection is really fast - after 35 years, you have a non-wired mouse that you can actually play Quake with, without ripping your hair our in knots.

tl;dr: Even though the mouse has ridiculous pricing, it's 80 gramm (77 without the magnetic lid on the stomach), and if you like the weight, shape, then the sensor and the fact that it's wireless won't be obstructive factors.
So it's quite okay, but calling it the best mouse ever is either seriously stretching it, or just some mild under-carriage licking for the donator firm.

Tracking wise the sensor is without any discussion the best on the market. It has no spinning errors, no tracking errors and absolute no smoothing at all. Yes, it does not give you the raw natural feeling of a WMO

....but: I've tested it on all kind of mousepads, even the ones that are hard to track on for an optical sensor and that have known issues with 3310, 3360, 3360 etc. like the artisan raiden, shidenkai, aluminum and glass pads.
The sensor feels way better than 3310, 3360 tracking wise. The shape is a personal preference but the weight is (at least for quake) a factor, where the sweet spot definitely is below 90gr.
Built quality is decent and the sensor position is a little forwarded for most hand length, which is a plus imho (subjective).

I can honestly say its a huge improvement. I could just drop any mouseaccel due to the missing neg. accel.

The wireless pro is by far the best mouse out there atm
IF shape is not a considered factor as this is personal preference.
Next to that the ultralight phantom (due to the cable and better mcu), and the wmo are the current top3 for quake.

Don't trust some random CA player from Australia, no matter his sexy voice. Lists are useless now that pretty much all mice are amazing: it all comes down to personal preference.

I found it small, and I have medium sized hands, maybe side buttons to close together.

Hmmm, you sure the MX518 will have the Hero sensor? Might actually have the 3366 sensor, it's called Logitech G MX518 from what I've heard.

My mistake, from another thread on reddit about it it seems like it is indeed a G-version.

Could all be a well executed hoax but let's hope not AND that Logitech bringa something new besides the sensor, perhaps really low weight?

G305 anyone?

I have a g305 and absolutely love it. It is a little heavier than the g pro with the battery supplied but its not a make or break it for me and the sensor is quite amazing.

I have been using it for a week now and not even a notch taken away from the battery and I won't be switching anytime soon if anything I will be trying a g pro wireless for its shape. The wireless implementation is amazing.

You should use a AAA lithium battery with AAA to AA adapter and its 84g and the battery life is still 1+ month.
Better yet use a piece of aluminum instead of the adapter and its 81g about the same weight as the new g pro wireless.
If you fingertip the mouse you can play without the cover and its 73g which is pretty insane for a wireless mouse.

also i recommend creating a game profile in the logitech software
that way performancemode is only active when u are actually playing games

I'm aware of those hacks but I am not a weakling and too light of a mouse actually impacts my play.
