I've driven a remapped astra vxr and it was horrible, they just can't get the power down and understeer in the corners. an lsd and upgraded suspension helps. pretty good value for money though

you need a custom clutch to go with a remapped ECU, the clutch will just spin and not pick up properly

and 19" wheels with michelin tyres

you need a clutch with all the neutrons of torque force to the drive shaft etc

the clutch wasn't slipping, it was only a stage 2 tune so the oem clutch could handle it. the astra vxr doesn't have the best chassis.

i don't care for speed, 20BHP extra is good, when you add 50kg of audio in the back

probably best getting a bodykitted normal car then, will save you loads of money on insurance and shit

or if you want to be a really bad boy then get a normal lower car which has the vxr engine put in but is still classed as a 1.0 or w/e on the dvla logbook - there's loads of these on ebay, you'll pay the insurance of a 1.0 and tax etc but will get into trouble if you crash and they inspect

until the police inspect your car with a random check, then it gets seized on the spot

Would be fun to know what ESR crowd drives, I daily drive a '08 vw mk5 golf GTI (dsg one), totally in love with the dsg and shift paddles. Great and comfortable car for daily use and long trips, parts and maintainance are pretty cheap and easy to upgrade to more power (mine is bone stock tho). Will change it for a '13 TT RS next year, I know I know, hairdresser car, but them 360 hp from that 5 cylinder and quattro makes it a stupid fast sexy ride.

Used cars prices are higher then in Germany for example, I bought mine two years ago with 110.000 km (68.000 miles) on the clock, two previous owners, but a very well maintained example and I paid 10k euros, less maintained example and with more km on the clock will go for 6,7 k. In general for used cars is recommended to buy them from Germany, but in my opinion only it doesn't make sense to go through this hustle for a car that is worth less than 20k euros, considering the costs of traveling to Germany and bringing the car back, visiting different car dealers etc, costs that could get to 2k euros.
Roads are very very bad, there are only 778 km of highways in Romania, I live in Bucharest and even tho it's a european capital, the city roads are nightmare.. The only good thing is that there are some few excellent roads in the mountain areas, and it's a fuckin pleasure to drive a sporty car uphill..and the scenery is also awesome (watch the top gear episode with the Transfagarasan road https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhSanuvCrOA)

they are only common if your car is 3 or so years old, for any other car you have to fit them yourself

you normally have to pay extra for them if you buy a car new, they are not standard, so you might as well get some good carbon performance mirrors instead
