i heard that some of the players complained that the monitors apper to be 144 hz, while they trained on 200hz at home. so i concluded they even had better conditions online.

they have many nades in qc as well (tribolt and keel's ability) but they're not quite the same :P way too small and toyish for my taste

I just learned about this tournament, and even with coollet participating I still have zero interest in watching it.

QC's devs really killed all the passion I had for Quake. These things should be promoted before hand and not showcase a monotonous game in which abilities are used in every single fight.

abilities should be reduced for sure (like, a real good option would be to respawn with a non-ready ability).

but if you don't follow qc (neither does almost everyone here), who to blame you didnt heard about the eswc? agree, id could have a build-in announcment and streams for big tourneys.

The main idea behind esports today is to promote the game being played so the event should have been advertised by the very developers. We all know that but lets look at my experience with this event.

Like the vast majority of potential viewers, I don't follow the zlive channel (the only English streamer) nor watch the Quake scene every week (no more than 2,000 people do). I open up twitch.tv, or /all or /following, and I see no mention whatsoever of ESWC Quake. Think about it: because this event had zero advertisement then only said followers knew about this event ever happening. And this is 1/5th of the live events this year; one of the five game advertisements of the year was wasted.

What to do next time? For starters be streamed by twitch.tv/quake, or twitch.tv/bethesda, or maybe by a major Twitch or Youtube personality because with 1,500 viewers like it has right now then no outsider to Quake is watching this event. An event not in Twitch's top 18 (/all) = nobody cares outside the current players. Then it should also be advertised in-game, the stream be embed everywhere (like major streamers are), have a sticky thread made in advance in the Quake Champions subreddit and here too (this thread was created by a fan in the day of the event), have an official English stream (zoot is re-streaming the 135 viewers French stream talking on top of it and with super low video quality), etc. etc. QC is amateur hour: the game.

You know, TimConLans are more professionally run than the Quake Champions esports scene. CrazyAl for free does a better job than like 5 paid employees at id software combined. No wonder QC is on its deathbed: the devs literally waste free advertisement.

zis i agree. the only thing i pointed out is that if you don't give a fuck about some game, you won't know the upcoming tourneys, well, especially, if its not being promoted at all by sad-ass devs.

main reason I personally don't know about the events beforehand is that no1 posts them here. Idk if that's because almost literally no1 knows or cares, which would be kinda sad (and it's time to die) for a quake community site.
