Imo yes if he treats the game like a service and also (most importantly) does a good job in capturing the amateur scene by getting a good community system in place with tools like a clan management system (possibly part of a subscription model like QL browser had) and a leaderboard/ranked mode with different tiers/ranks/some kind of progression system.

I believe that with 2gd and noctis making gameplay decisions it's no doubt that it will at least be fun to play :)
