Rail has the lowest dps ingame out of all weapons,
And its harder to hit than many other things like ssg / nailgun.
Especially with broken hitbox / hitscan and broken animations, you think you hit but its not, or you hit between legs between armpits and whatever the fuck the game shows.

After shooting rail whenever you hit or miss, you are defenseless for a time.
Tanks dont give a fuck about rails this game as even if you hit 3 rails in row in some sorlag he will end up eating you.

In many cases MG is a better weapon than railgun with higher dmg and less risk.

its not about having equal weapons, its about having weapons that are good for certain situations, rail is still a good weapon on long range maps, there is just no other good gun except maybe mg ...
I still prefer a shooter where you have to go into close range combat as a true man and take out your enemy who is most of the times fully aware you are coming to get him but u still pwn him because of ur leetness ... instead of hiding in some spot and sniping ur unaware victims ... but I can understand where you are coming from, you have such a lowsens gameplay that u r easy prey in close combat without your lg and u r pretty much condemned to be a helpless victim

nailgun/plasma is and always has been the hardest weap to master, but theorically the strongest of them all, because highest dps.

but you can't isolate dps and make an assumption out of that like "rail has lowest dps and thus it's the weakest weap", are you fucking retarded.

rail has prolly one of lowest dps but it has an infinite range and it's an instant point and click weap, making it to the holy trinity (rl lg rg) of q3/q4/qc weaps, or let's say tier1 weap.

sg isn't easier to hit than rail, it's actually exactly the same way of aiming, only the range changes. Ofc hitting 30dmg sg is very easy, but try to make a full hit everytime at very close range against a fast target, much much harder.

Any noob can hit Nailgun, and it does 4 times more dps.
You can hit with nailgun from any range, you can defend and attack.
It does not take any skill to spam corridor / teleport exit, or to aim it in melee range.

Try defending yourself with rail, you gonna get fucked.
Long range Rail is still doing less dps than MG and with higher reload time its a worse weapon.

Many maps don't even have long range distance for railing. Railer is an easy target with any other weapon.

Insta damage is good sometimes, but constant damage is much more reliable, try running quad with railgun only. Most people pick ssg for quad runs, because its easy and reliable frags. Screw with rail once and your dead.

When you are hit by anything in QC like rocket, and you run with rail your aim will be literally fucked, as crosshair jumps randomly, so you cannot properly aim with rail in fights.

Tanks don't give a fuck about your rail, even if you are a master and has 90%+ accuracy, Sorlag can take 4 rails in row and be far from death point.

Yes its easier to hit because rail is a hitscan dot, and SSG is a aoe attack, in close range you need to be mentally challenged to miss with it, and even the most retarded noobs get 140 dmg shots.
You dont need to aim just come close to your opponent and press fire button.
