previously i used razer goliathus control. now it seems to me that it is too slow. please, advice me some fast cloth pads, size not smaller then 450x350...
Since Zowie stopped producing G-TF Speed (and "replaced" with something super thick and mushy, why they would think this is a good idea is anyone's guess), I've migrated to Endorphy Cordura Speed L.
Out of the box it has definitely less friction (which you call being faster) than a long worn-out G-TF Speed. Can't really say how it would compare to a new one from years ago, but I assume they would be similar. It's a nice pad.
3 mm would still be "thick" by my standards, but actually, it has just the right amount of mushiness - softer than wood under your forearm/palm (or a glass pad), but it's impossible to actually deform - the mouse always has perfectly flat surface to slide on.
70g mouse (Ninox Aurora + cheap teflon skates from AliExpress) can be moved on the pad by blowing at it. So again, G-TF Speed territory.
The only thing I don't like in comparison with the G-TF (but everyone else prefers?) is the underside. It has that stair pattern rubber base that everyone since QCK+ uses, which does offer some anti-slip effect, but nothing compared to a completely flat sticky rubber on the G-TF Speed. That thing basically glued itself to the desk, never ever moved around without lifting. Apparently most people hate it, I absolutely loved it. That's how a mousepad should work. The Endorphy can't move with a forearm on it (so it's all irrelevant for gaming), but can slide around a bit when you bump things on it. So that's the only "bad" thing I can say about it ;)
how does your own hand glide on the fabric ? I've tried a mp510 recently from CoolerMaster and it was way too rough for my taste ! zowie G-RF kai G-TF 2010 in comparison were perfectly balanced.
I want something does not feel abrassive when my palm and/or fingers slide on top of it, a bit of texture is actually desireable, too much texture and it feels awkward to use ...
The fabric looks smoother than it feels. It's cordura, so the weave is super tight and looks flat (like no cloth pad I've seen), but it's still hard and somewhat porous which is awesome for teflon mouse feet, but your hand feels the difference.
Frankly, I think most of the "abrasive feeling" comes from the sound/vibration - I don't really move my hand around the pad, but I just made some tests for you and the sound my palm can make if I swipe it around is way higher pitched than on the G-TF and of course both are louder compared to a soft and slow pad. G-TF is humming, this is whining ;)
I guess tight weave means higher frequency, and as it's a weave, it has a frequency, compared to "sprayed" random pattern like the G-TF, which produces white noise instead of a single pitch. It's not abrasive at all (has no skin residue after months without a wash), but definitely feels like that, and I blame the uniformity of the surface. It's technically better, but feels less natural.
So I think this is not for you, if you're low sens palm grip arm aimer who's super sensitive to the abrasive feeling ;) I never notice it (fingertip grip, mostly hand aim), but for you this might be a problem.
Maybe if I'm bored tomorrow, I can wash the pads and record a sound comparison for you, so you'll see if we're talking about the same thing. Unfortunately, I left my last QCK+ at work and haven't been there in 3 months - what good is an ESR benchmark without a QCK+ for comparison?!
