XL2540 is a great monitor as it supports freesync/gsync and blur reduction can be enabled via the hidden menu

XL2546 supports blur reduction via the OSD (called DyAc), but DOES NOT support freesync/gsync

XL2546S is the best of both i.e. it supports freesync/gsync and you can enable blur reduction via the OSD (called DyAc). It has a slightly faster 0.5ms panel, which should make a positive difference.

XL2740 is the same as the XL2540

XL2746S is the same as the XL2546S

My vote would go XL2546S/XL2746S, or the XL2540 if the price is significantly lower. Alternatively one of the new 240Hz IPS monitors like the AW2521HF or VG259QM but I have no hands on experience with the latter.

The XL2540 is £330 from Benq and the XL2546S is going to be £460+ so I've ordered an XL2540 (I've also got a GTX 1080 coming to replace my 970).
Quick question - what monitor settings am I using and not using for best performance? AMA, Black EQ, blur reduction, colour vibrance etc? Cheers NVC! :) Looking forward to 240hz 8)

I've been looking for a 4k @ 120+ Hz panel but the only thing that comes to mind is a 1800 euro Asus panel. Yeah, not going to happen.

So, my advice is keep what you have, provided it works, and wait some more. I've been waiting for years. Fuck them. Not shelling lots of money for a mediocre halo product. I don't think it would be too much to expect every 2021 model tv/monitor to have HDMI2.1 meaning more or less suitable for gaming regardless of the price bracket.

You can always get lg oled48cx, should be around 1k euro near november.
Great for multimedia and gaming, probably not so great for office/programming etc (static content).

I've had an eye on that TV for well over an year. Main problem is... it's a TV which means it has a microphone array and a camera. It's a huge issue for me.

"Just don't connect it to the internet" is NOT a good solution. It's a computer with active sensors.

Besides, it's not really available yet. Also not sure about using an OLED for programming. Could be a huge mistake.

Theres no camera and mic is in remote. And it should be available but its better to wait few months anyway. For programming I'd probably pass - static content burn in risk and nonstandard subpixel layout, suboptimal for text (not bad but worse than 4k lcd).

I've been waiting for a 32 inch 4k panel with at least 120 Hz refresh rate for years now. It's just not happening. I just don't understand this market. TVs have better specs and are cheaper. They must be thinking we're all chumps

Remember to use Test Bench 1.0 as well (its not super easy to find). I have the Omen X 25f and am quite happy. Recommeded if you want something less pricy than the benq screens.

According to benq the xl2546s doesn't support free/g-sync https://zowie.benq.com/en/product/monitor/xl/xl2546s.html. In fact the only mention I can find it having x-sync is you.

So I sold my XL2720Z and bought a XL2540. Very impressed with the XL2540, it's significantly faster than the XL2720Z, feels almost like a CRT.
I was getting around 150+fps with my 970 so picked up a 1080 GTX off my brother to try and hit 240fps to match the 240hz of the XL2540. I've installed the 1080 and seem to be getting almost the same performance as the 970!? fps in a duel on ZTN with the 970 were 150-190fps, with the 1080 I'm getting very similar. I expected more around 250fps.
I have an i5 2500K at 4.2ghz - surely this wouldn't bottle neck a 1080 so hard?
I run everything on performance/low and 1600X900.

Which game? I'm assuming QC - fps are a mess in that game. I have killer specs and got only 100 fps, but after heavy tinkering it's around 200 now.

QC is very dependent on fast RAM and CPU, while not making enough of GPU power...you could try some of these tutorials

2500k isnt the best cpu to play modern games. Try rtss to see cpu/gpu occupation with qc
