currently faye has better lg tho, but serious couldn't give more fuck, and not playing much lately, if not at all

and nope, whatever the settings, the amount of practice etc, i don't think i stand a chance anymore at lg vs lg against the "new generation"

will see how it goes with plenty of diabotical practice, but there's actually like 15% chance at best that i can reclaim my "arena 1v1 lg king" again in 2020+ :>

Honestly, I took a massive break since November cause I caught this covid trash, I booted up Kovaaks aim trainer and just did some general practice sessions 10/15mins long against the scenarios that helped with tracking and response and I'm slowly getting back to be able to aim "normally" again.

What a lot of these guys do is spend a few hours a day on that shit, hence being able to aim incredibly well. Mechanical skill is easy to develop, it's the micro and macro skills of game knowledge that a lot of these new players lack.

You got this man, you can be the 2020 king again, only if you let yourself become it. ;-)

Out of curiosity, how bad was the covid and what is your age or range if you don't mind me asking?

I gave up being a quake pro long ago. I gave up the dumb things such as alcohol and weed as well and took up some new right things. Quake is still good.

After 10+ years of playing Quake my conclusion is that being good at LG is mostly luck. Some kids just hit a perfect combination of sens settings, accel, mouse, fov, crosshair.. that somehow is ideal for their brain and that's it. It's just a lottery of hitting the perfect settings that create perfect brain plasticity for you. There's no way strenx lg zoomwhoring on people has any special explaination other than that he found an ideal setting.

that said, i wouldn't be so radical, a good/perfect config doesn't make you instantly aim hero

and to back up that claim, serious can play on many diff settings (from a reasonable range of consistency, but still) and hit just as hard, depending on his mood/feelings

afaik i've seen him play at 40cm, 20cm, with a FOV varying from 93 to 105, even with accel at one point, and he was still hitting really hard

if you want my honest opinion, config setup and settings are not instant "aim god", but it does add that extra +3-5% that you can get on top of your current aim level, if at least your mood is stable and you don't change for years any single bit of your config/setup/settings

if mood fluctuating a lot, motivation fluctuating a lot, dedication and willing to play good can be altered, basically you'll just play worst, even if you got the perfect config (for you)

so to summerize, config/setup/settings = mainly what will make you more comfy and don't even think about them, reaching your max potential. But being an "aim-god" is called talent and/or practice, it's the base of all performing

The secret lies in the mental state. Not settings. Unfortunately this is not something which was measurable nor adjustable.
