You don't even need to open it again, at least with Q3 you get the proper Q3 folder. Whole point is to get a free cdkey. Even tho probably servers don't even ask for it anymore. Is Punkbuster or any anticheat on place?

There is the option to select punkbuster, but it's either inactive or ineffective after all these years.

I wanted to make sure how fast quake 3 launches on a modern day machine running Linux. ~18-20 years ago it used to show me that id stamp logo in less than a second. These days, with nvme and such, it starts just as fast. Probably a couple hundred ms faster, who cares. It was devilishly fast even back then.

I was amazed to find out there are actual people still playing Quake 3 even though QL has been out there and free for a while. Not bad. Not bad at all.

I have a problem with gamma due flux. Its dark. Any fixes?

It should, though. But yeah, if you have other software messing with the display settings, it probably won't help.

these are good mainly because telling about them to your friends might make them turn quake on

Problem is, there's probably a lot of hackers, since as far as I know there's no anticheating at all.
