It's a shame the site isn't as active as it once was - I'm not really sure what replaced it quake wise - seemed to really die a death when Quake Champions came out and there were no longer any big Quake Live tournaments.

this site is also anti qc, there were people trying to make community qc events, but they were not advertised here, and for ql there werent really any events... and now after 4 years, qc has not so much thrill to it, while it still a good game ... but chess is also a good game and I didnt play it for years ... and this IPV6 problem on the site denying you to post doesnt help either .... anyway, now the autism sites have taken over, aka twitch chat, discord chat, youtube comments, etc., you might geht lucky here and there with semi autistic reddits with a longer discussion, but thats about it ... Game over, all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

anyway, I did my part: played Quake1 co-op with my nephews, I watch them struggle to complete the advanced QL training trials, played QC:Doom Edition in LAN, yelling at each other from one room to another.

now they're into CS:GO, but I try not to be judgemental.. it's what their peers play after all.

ESR's light to nonexisting moderation made me a snarky asshole for a couple of years on other online forums. I cringe hard thinking about it.

I come here once in a blue moon for the legacy of Quake and the awesome memories from tournaments, but it's a wasteland. people here also don't take kindly other Arena FPS games, which is a shame and a slow death sentence to this site.

quakelive runs in only one core and feel smooth and great
quakechampions is console ported engine,

SUPER SLOW loading times, queueing times
and no server browser or server communitys
no incentivation of customization

Member from 2012. I subscribe to the site's main news feed via RSS, and check in whenever something is posted. It would be a real shame for a site with a legacy like esreality to fade away completely.

Of course it doesn't help that I need to use a VPN to post because the forum software can't handle an IPv6 address.

Agree a bit, but there have been abd still are some decent games for e-sports like Starcraft 1+2, CS:GO etc

Though everything is sadly overshadowed by Fortnite these days

Love big time fps
QL was a pretty much peak form
web-intrface first, pretty nice (so-so) ladder ever after
Q3 OSP was better but lacking matchmake and shit, and lg was lagging bull
