Huge disappointment if they don't bring us any tournament this year. Would be a first. Been following this event since years, was always a good time and an integral part of the event.

There will be LAN (aka BYOC) tournamens as usual, but that's it.

really sad to see quakecon with no quake tournament tbh.. it was the one thing every quakecon that would get pretty good consistent views and attention on their streams and was always pretty hype

There's no big Quake news. But there are some things going on.

According to Reddit people seemingly quoting the official Discord, QC will be freed up just like QL was. Users will be able to upload their own servers, and official support will end. No schedule.

There's a third-party Quake 1 board game on the works. Yay.

And there's always community-made stuff going on. This month the official-ish remaster of Quake 2 PSX was released, for Q2 Remaster on Steam. And KeenCon will be hosted this weekend; a 1v1 QC LAN in Spain, with zoot commentating
