Quake 3 Arena different scoring arbitering system
(No comments)
In the theoretical case that quake3 matches would be scored like in boxing or UFC -where score alone is not the only factor (how many accurate punches are landed) but what is taken into consideration is the damage and the style involved -ie in kickboxing they made a rule that you need to throw at least 5 considerable kicks in order to not have points deducted, what would be most important things besides frags alone, when is to evaluate a player's performance?
In example, what kind of frags are more skilled, rockets, rails or some combination between various weapons? -throwing in the air with a well placed rocket + rail to finish, rocket jumping and throwing a rail while still in the air, etc.

Why am I even thinking about this:
-because so often frags in matches are just banal rails thrown from distance, where people shoot and aim at random, and they count the same like well placed, elegant rockets thrown at precise location during complex battles around pillars or when both players are in the air -such masterful frags are the reason why quake3 highlights videos exist.
-second reason is that if you play a 15 min match and first 4 minutes you are off, the frag difference can be so drastic that even if you overcome the opponent for the rest of the match, the difference in those seconds or few minutes when you were completely off balance or lacked proper focus can never be gained back -things which does not happen in boxing or other sports where there is a limit on the scorecards with each round.
