geez, the dude who recorded it was hosting the listen server so with an sv_fps value of 20/30 this would have been unwatchable(is that a valid word?). They didnt use cl_125hz or pmove.

no it wouldnt have been unwatchable, w'gep\hpw_conn_and/or\bukkake. And no, it has nothing to do with pmove or cl_125hz, it has to do with the way netcode (and physics to a lesser degree) work with these heightened settings.

and yes, the canadians are on the fucking ball. i find it hard to believe you even understood that phrase considering you werent sure if "unwatchable" was a word.

then you are probably the only one i've seen who would prefer a choppyness equivalent of maxfps 15 to a 4mbyte demo.

tell me about this 125hz hax, I've seen people use cl_125hz 2. 50ms built in lag on sv_fps 20 is gay. What's the work around. If it means 4.6 meg demos, great, I don't care

cl_125hz or pmove(i think its the same thing) is "enhanced client sampling" and basically makes you jump further so ppl with bad framerate can make certain jumps in q3. Some drawbacks is that for ppl with good framerate you jump very far and the game becomes all choppy so its a forbidden command in all sorts of competitions.

cl_125hz was removed from osp with id's introduction of pmove_fixed and instead the osp team "debugged" id's version of 125hz. It's still buggy though, but it has to be enabled on the server (and on most servers it defaults to 0) to work so setting pmove_fixed 1 in your config won't have any effect.
