Nice editing in my opinion. Some horisontal banding though that I don't know if it's an effect or a compression-thing. I for one liked the musical choice as it worked good together with the effects and overall editing and action in the material.

I'd like to know on what system this was made? CPU etc etc. And was it purely digital files material or did it ever go via tape?

I've had the same thoughts on the bands. But I believe they are intentional. The reason is that I believe I read somewhere that he tested with DivX first, and didn't like the quality, so he stuck to MPEG-2.

350 Mb for 11 minutes is extremely poor encoding. Seems people just crank up the bitrate and say "hey, this looks pretty" and release it.

I prefer a big download and great visuals instead of a small file with very poor quality and low detail..

This movie could probably have been almost half the size and look almost the same. It puzzles me that movie makers use so many hours making a movie and still don't look into compression methods and tools. A great example is the AaA movie which is about 10 mb a minute as opposed to almost 35.

I guess I shouldn't care since I have the bandwidth anyway, it's just something that's bothered me with all these fragmovies.

If image quality has some sort of linear connection to bitrate, then you might have a point. But that isn't the case, most movies with a bitrate over 300 (this probably has over 400) look worse compared to a movie that is well encoded with a bitrate of 200.

This movie could have been 150 Mb and look the same.

It could have been even less but then it wouldnt been optimized for DVD.

One aspect people tend to forget is that the more unlike each frame is from the others the less compression you get, thus if you add effects and/or much movement and have high colordepth in 30fps you get huge files. But 10-15mb / min is achieavable without any problems with the right codecs (including soundcodecs).

The players in this movie are pretty good afaics. but the movie is aweful... =(

instead of d/ling the 300mb mpeg2 file jsut load up cs and flashbang yourself 30 times in a row while listening to some bland techno. this way you will have experienced the constant effects of this movie without wasting an hour dling it and then finding a codec for it.

on the positive side, I did love that nade on ct bridge room and all the silenced m4 headshot fests... I wish I could have actually focused on them through the blurry effexts. >:-|

well, this sounds like the movie is crap, so forget the click, baby... i have wasted so many bandwith downloading "awesome", "incredible impressive" and "totally perfect" movies which were all crap in the end... especially unneeded transitions and eye-killing lensflare-effects are hurting my heart if i think of all the energy and time spent doing the captures... well well, i have to do something about it...

I thougth of posting this one too but as said, it was huge and the frags isn't very peticular but the effects and editing is absolutley one of the better I've seen!

If I want to see just great frags, I download the demos. Gaming movies is more then just the frags it contains...

Its huge u would rather download a game or film movie then download a gameskill movie

All I've done is install WMP9, and I play this movie with it...

oh man, I wasn't being critical... I was merely expressing that, for me, that statement wasn't true.
frustrating to have to uninstall, re-install, test, uninstall, re-install, test and find out nothing works now... uninstall, then restore the registry and re-install WMP7 again.
so it was a bit of frustration on my part, but I certainly didn't intend to sound like a jerk.

Nice work - really good editing, combination with effects and sound. It lost some power at the end (editing-wise).

I am not a CS fan (at all) but this movie was really worth watching. (Ok, editing made a lot of it but some frags felt skilled)

The music isn't my style but it fit with the movie and the base was really nice =)

For those who whine about the size, its a release for watching at your TV since its Mpeg2 (dvd/svcd) and I can recommend to burn it and flap it into the dvd-player.

Probably the worst music selection of any CS movie, although it did have the plus side of saving the makers lots of effort with all that pesky business of syncing the music and the video.
If you can only download one cs movie today, get aAa or eolithic - Oslo by storm, they are far better.

Save him from all the trouble? I think you watched the wrong movie. Go see a standard CS movie instead with some punk like 90% of all the other CS movies..
