bw servers are crap and full of tossers.

BW server booking is excellent. I get 4 hours of server booking a week (per account) for Q3, UT2K3, etc. servers. These booked servers are open to non-subscribers and feature all the maps/mods.

BW leagues are excellently run. Some will eventually become pay to play.

I've used my BW email account (with anti-virus checking) for... 4 years.

I have 2 accounts (1 for me, 1 for friend/clan) so I can always use any of the empty BW P2P servers for games with my mates without having to search.

I get MySQL/PHP/PHPMyAdmin etc, webspace, hosting, lines of crack.

So why not?

They put together a very nice package, especially if you are a UK clan/player.

Yeah...BW is good value to UK people. Lot of people knock it, I don't know why really. I think the webhosting is worth the money itself.

The other 2 parts are about gamers who seem to be the "losers". One part shows a guy who plays arcade golf and loses. Another part shows a gaming clan who play video games 24/7, do not sleep, and all work at FedEx. One more part shows a past pro "pacman"(rofl) player who thinks pacman is the perfect game. He now works in his families’ restaurant business and sells his own sauce.

I don't think you got the jist of the show though. Hence the title "Real Life". The idea is gaming for a living isn't all glory. They're trying to show the ups and downs of it and they succeeded. Don't mock the guy for playing golf, everyone has their game, he probably isn't interested in yours.

Order of light- Not sure why they call themselves a clan. They are basically are a bunch of guys that play consoles, mostly single player, all day and night. I thought the purpose of a clan was to play mp games and play against other clans.

They had some grip on reality. They realized that they aren't going anywhere by gaming all day (i.e. "I'm still at the entry level fedex position after 3 years), but yet they all continued to do it.

That pacman dude was comical. He is stuck in the 80's with the hair and the clothing. He is living off the glory of some 25 year old video game that nobody cares about. Then at the end of the show he has this new feat which he is practicing for that will shock the world and won't reveal it! LOL. Then you see him practicing centipede. I am pretty sure whatever he does in centipede will probably only wow about 2 people :/

Well I played with a bunch of guys in high school video/computer games all the time, but I would not have called us a clan. If they at least showed them practicing together or playing another clan they would have shown a little more credibility. Instead they show this dude playing DOA beach volleyball by himself from 10 pm to 4 am :/
Not that there is anything wrong if thats what they want to do, but I think MTV would have been better off picking a CS/Q3/UT clan though.
Overall gamerz came off as loser/geeks/retards on the show IMO

Man what a strange documentary. The order of light I thought was rather an ironic name seeing as most of them never got to see the light of day and actually said they prefer night.

I was actually quite impressed watching clips of they guy playing pacman he really had the skills and a perfect game of pacman is pretty amazing. The funniest thing was watching him in the supermarket pushing other sauces behind his.

The golf dude wasn't very impressive although he was world champion, lost a bet in his local bar, travelled to memphis and then lost his first two games in the double-elim. At which point he decided he needed a break.

Fatal1ty was the only one who was potrayed as actually making a success of it and he even had some groupies to boot!

I thought we would see what the Pacman guy was planning on doing, guess i was wrong. :>

i think they managed to show quite good that who ever games, has no real future. those order of light geeks just losing all the time as the reallife nubs they are. the pacman guy with no real accomplishment in his life, didnt get anything except some fame with his perfect game. the golf guy was an asshole imo, just couldnt lose, and actually thinking that real golf is the same thing as his tee thing is really stupid. then there was fata, it was mentioned quite often that he is the best there ever was and will be... the #1, then it was mentioned that he got something like 100000-150000$ a year. and they showed quite good, that nobody could ver reach his level in gaming, it just wasnt possible for him to lose. with someone like this on the top earning so little money, the rest of the gamers earn nothing, ergo could not make a living of it.
i think mtv showed quite good that gaming suckz. you either are a nobody, or a geek( =a nobody). but beeing like fatality is impossible

and now they do the same for warcraft: elky gets like 40k$ + appartment + food + tournament prizes + whatever just for playing warcraft.
thats a little more 'pro' than fatality, who tries to sell mousepads to stupid kids...
there are alot more ppl in korea who earn alot more than elky (grrr gets 60k + X, and i dont want to mention ppl like boxer here) all by playing starcraft. they dont even attend at tourneys which have 10k$ as first prize...

dont get me wrong, fatality worked hard for what he has, and he definnitly has achieved some nice victorys, and most obvious he is the most popular/best known pro-gamer in the world.
but doing such a tv show without mentioning all the ppl who let fatality look like some sauce-selling pacman dude compared to them is quite bubu.

Given that this is an American TV show about American Life I think it would not be appropriate or cost effective for mtv to go to Korea and follow progamers over there. That would be an interesting show, but of all the Trule Life episodes I have seen I have never watched one that took place in a foreign country.

Second of all, the show wasn't about "progamers" at all really. The order of light and the pacman dude would not have been included if it were. It was attempting to give a broad picture of different people who are addicting to gaming. I certainly think they could have picked some better people to follow, but Fat was appropriate since he is teh best know gamer in the US.
