Well, the movie was nicely edited and I had fun watching it from beginning to end but it had too many visual effects that were really not necessary. Adding a noise while rocket jumping and that sort of thing. Doesn't really serve any useful purpose, annoys more than impresses.

That's fair, I will keep it in mind for the next project.

Try looking at FragFX for an example of terrible usage of effects (looks like the guy wanted to show off that he knows what each premiere effect does) and Annihilation for the un-annoying effects.

Herm annihilation annahilited me when I first saw it (about 8time straight) ! I was close to delete my project, it takes me 2weeks to restart workin'.
Huuuuuuu yes, FragFX spams your eyes with massive efx every 5sec, I think I'm far from this.

so far the only q3 films to actually have half decent editing are the badge films, rest r complete toss imo ;)

you should get more then, the badge movies are ok but imho feel really old-fashioned now with recent movies.

Annihilation, Tribulation, Cetus the movie, or even this one, are great pieces of video. Have a look on www.own-age.com to get them, they really worth the watch :)

Thrust me! This movie has attitude to spare :D I LOVE this movie. Can't stop watching it. It's even better than Annihilation IMHO, and I dig that movie as well ;) You shouldn't let the filesize matter.

It's lots of action, so takes space to keep the quality.

You can't use the same bitrates in a gaming movie as you do in a normal feature movie. Way to much action in gaming movies for that. At least Q3/UT movies.

When the extreme blur on that tropical island map came I actually had to close my eyes cause they started burning...

Guess it is a matter of taste, but watch demos if you want no flash... movies should dazzle. This was high quality for sure.

actually it is unavailable cause it is just a lil' bit modified version for my own personnal use.
btw : the final Hq is : 700mb (1cd) xvid cbr 10000 + mp3 320kbps.

Yes it said 500mb but I have worked a lil' bit on the movie to remove/correct some schniiits and re-done another export afterwards.
This is personnal thingie so that's why I called it : Home Collector in the watchme.txt

I think FragFX is cool. Gives what the name says, so don't complain about the effects. But your movie has attitude..

I was curious after the pummel sequence in the beginning, but it totally delievered throughout the movie, so it was just amazing.
