300 gamers from 30 nations will compete at WCG 2005 – Euro Championship for a total prize purse of €150,000. This eSport event for Europe will take place from 10 March 2005 to 13 March 2005 in 6.000sqm of hall 27 at CeBit, Hannover.

The best players from 30 different European nations that have already competed 2004 in San Francisco will be invited to the ECG2005. There will be a slight change in the games list from the WCG. The official tournaments at ECG2005 will be: FIFA Football 2005, Need for Speed Underground 2, Starcraft: Broodwar, Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament 2004.

To cover the whole spectrum of gaming there will be two additional Xbox Games: Halo 2 and Project Gotham Racing 2, and additionally, there will be the first European Mobile Gaming Competition. All travel and accomodation costs and catering for more than 300 invited players will be covered by the sponsors.

Again in 2005, this event is more than just a tournament. With many partners out in different fields like game development, demo programming, hardware modding, school and game hardware & software, it will show the complete world of gaming and several facets beyond the game. On the Thursday, there will be the opening ceremony and in the evening a huge booth party with strictly limited access.

All final games and the closing event including the awarding ceremony will be held on Sunday.
