Why hasn't anyone noticed the fucked-up aspect ratio? For me the monotonous 98% hitscan frags really ruined it, as well as the lack of an intro, the shitty quality (because the picture was stretched) and the lack of syncing. That's not a movie, that's a frag collection to show off great frags.

The frags are great, yes, but as a movie, it sucks.

i know how you feel, you just made a movie, or you helped, or your clan m8 made a movie, and you want that movie to be the best and not want any other movie.

i had it the same way when i made my trailer and some n00b ffa movie got more attention than mine did :P

That and this was worse than Short Circuit. There were 4 non-hitscan frags (I counted) and no intro and the editing was so-so at best. Not to talk about quality issues either, dunno why people like it.

because the movie show an quite good amount of skill and not so much luck... the editing was quite clean cut, and that scene on CG with the red eye's and then the cut of the map was quite nice made.

image quality was how it should be, the large filesize was because of the audio, so i dont really think there was anything to point at.

ofc there wasnt many non hitscan frags, true, no intro, true.

the no non hitscan dosnt bother most good ut2k4 players because that's just the way the game is, ofc the lack of intro was a hughe flaw of the vid.

if you wanna compare this movie to Short Circuit then ok.

frags: Short Circuit had the advantage in frags from all weapons, which made the flow of the movie some how better, but the frags didnt quite show much skill, they more showed some luck, which even half of the frags didnt even show.

music: they were quite equal imo, not much sync in either of the vid's, but my personal taste i must say Goodnight Goodfight wins here (but thats just my taste ;)

image quality: they were again equal, with short circuit to have the lesser file size, but that wasnt because of the image quality, but because of the uncompressed audio.

effect: Short Circuit kinda destroyed the frags in effects, imo overkill, goodnight goodfight has effects done much more clean

a side note, ofc was nice Short Circuit had an intro, even one i hadnt seen before in a ut2kx movie before, but i have seen it way to many times in q3 movies, and thats the reason why i dont give much for it, because it was imo ripoff.

ofc all of the above is just personal taste, dont misunderstand me, Short Circuit was a alittle above average for a ut2k4 movie, same goes for goodnight good fight.

I got bored in a few minutes because "Head Shot!!" is actually quite an annoying text when stuck on the screen for 4 minutes in a row...

so why watch Short Circuit ? because that was what Short Circuit had of hitscan, that was some headshots.... didnt notice much headshots in goodgame goodnight

Didn't notice much else. Look - if 4 frags weren't hitscan, and there were 2 minutes of frags, then I really can't see how you can fill that time without putting in an excess amount of headshots.

I'm not arguing that Short Circuit's content was great - it wasn't - but the fact is that there were still mixed frags with all weapons. Hell, Div 5 player who's played for 4 months doesn't really make that many awesome frags - I'd know.

there is 3½ min frags, where 5 of them isnt hitscan, then there is ½ min outro with non hitscan where they all are some funny shots and stuff like that.

there werent many headshots, a few but they were a part of a multi kill or something, so it dosnt matter.

dont really see where you are going with this, you ofc dont like this movie i can see (or atleast it is what you make it look like).

if its just beacuse you havnt noticed ut2kx is hitscan, or you dont see the skill in it, or you dont like some movie gets hyped more than Short Circuirt i cant tell... but why not just leave this movie ? :P

That's my point - it's a movie that's only 50% there. I know the game is hitscan, but they're not cool. A few HS's (no, not Hostile Skillz) is OK, but too many and it loses its appeal. Same thing with too much editing, too many air rocks, etc.

true, i just have it that way, if the shit shows off some skill its nice to watch... just like the Nagash movie, hitscan all the way but showed some nice skill off...

just wait untill my next movie :P got 2x hammerkills that show off skill, yeah, your right, movement skills! :D, gonna be fun ;)

Nagash's movie was shit as a movie. Frankly I rarely care about the content - cool kills are good, but presentation is all. If I wanted to see good frags I'd just watch good demos - the added value of a movie maker is why I download 200 megs instead of 12.

I dunno why some of the guys over here diss this one complain about the frags, BUT the movie has nice frags, and they are put together quite well. For those who found too _many_ hitscan frags here, well - its the authors and moviemakers choice, and u cant do anything about it :)

Maybe i rated this movie high 9/10 because i watched short circuit before (no offence). Enjoyed both movies.

Nothing special IMO no frags made my jaw move even one milimeter from it's previous position.

That and sucky cfg, it was too dark and confusing at times.
Too bad that the pros (like ShaolinProductions) dominate q3 scene, UT2k4 could use some of such talent.

I'm sure that TeveT put some work into it but it doesn't mean that everyone will like his movie. Opinions differ so TeveT fanboys don't dis me for not agreeing with you :)

P.S. The only part I liked was that "TeveT playing" bit.

and I completely agree with revoN (#27) - crappy cfg, dark image, bad compression - I'm sure you could pack more than just 4 mins in 158MB with better quality

Nice watch though dont see why this would be the best ever as some has posted.

The best part of it all was in the outro when the names was displayed. Notice that TeveT doesnt use ""...picking up a nick as a real second name is one of the best things Ive ever heard of ^^

i've seen a LOT worse as far as compression/image quality goes. and he did post on unrealnorth that it was an unfinished work that he never got around to finishing so he uploaded it as is.

as for the frags, the game is 98% hitscan anyway ;)
