Don't get so worked up and take everything so seriously.
Those guidelines are corporate jargon to which they can enforce if they have to.
The bottom line is I bet you can still play games as much as you want and DL all the shit you want.
NTL ain't stupid they know people won't stand for that shit if they cut off connections.

Still, if you are living with other heavy USERS, then that might well show up as a problem address if you're all dl stuff.

People on those forums usually just moan for the sake of moaning.
WHy don't you put a post up asking how many customers have had the connections stopped over the last few years.

This is all quite true...plus, they say they aren't going to enforce anything until the end of the year, when our contract will have ended, and we'll be going home. I was just in a crappy mood at the time :)

I also got this reply from a mate who works there.

You'lll notice that all ISPs are starting this capping of the Broadband, but
with regards NTL, if you are on the new 1MB speed then the usage allowance is 3gbs a month, if you are on the new 2mb or 3mb then its 1gb a day, as its always been over the last few years. Its not a hard cap at the moment. If you go over this then nothing will happen to you (unless you are downloading movies 24/7). I think that in the future they maybe enforcing a hard cap, but no info at the moment!

Also i know that BT's cap for their new 2mb is 15gbs a month.

*EDIT* - Just read the other posting and you're on 3gbs, so nothing will be differnet for you at the moment than it has been since you've had Broadband.

at least you can go to another isp...

we pay +/- 100 euro for 512k adsl line rental (the max we can get here), then add 38 euro per 3gig isp account. after 3gb your international bandwidth gets throttled to less than 1kiB/s.

what do you do then? buy another account.
