Q4 is looking very good, but I'm still worried about demo filesizes. Has there been any news on that?

iD/Raven said that demos would be of reasonable size whatever that is. But i would guess around 10-20 mb for a 15 min period.

Ned Flanders (the christian guy with a moustache in the Simpsons) often comes up with witty new words, often adjectives, like "margalicious". "enemymodelable" sure sounded like a flanderific word to me! :)

they have osp / cpma for q3 for years now, it would be simply stupid not to ship the game with a competition mod with all options.

They seem to put in some basic functionality (and hopefully build upon what d3 brought) but I'm pretty sure they'd rather spend some developing /crunch time on other aspects of the game that are more primordial.

I dont like the rail so far, it looks like that wannabe rail from UT :)

Angel said there would be no Q4 for WT, but, knowing the hypocritic nature of the CPL, we might expect the next WT game to be in fact Q4.

Edit: CPL no longer sux due to the consideration of Quake4.

I've recently been told by a partner company that I was wrong about that statement and that id Software is in fact open to discussing a license. I apologize to id for the characterization and hope we can work on an agreement the could lead to the use of their games in our tournaments again.

Not if the CPL bought the rights to hosting major lan tournaments with Q4 like they did with PK, although with PK noone really cared much as noone wanted to play it anyway, but Q4 without tournaments the quality of ESWC would really be dissapointing. I don't believe the CPL could deliver tournaments of similar quality.

Actually I believe it is not the cpl's intention to get full rights to the new wt games like they did for pk. I believe they said so somewhere in the cpl forums that they did it for pk because it was such a small following or something along those lines and that they wouldn't for the new games.

Also let's not forget when Angel first gave the time of his interview to announce the new games he was prepared to announce them but also said that if id was willing to talk so was the cpl. Then all of a sudden on the day of the announcement they weren't ready.

I'm seriously crossing my fingers here. If it's q4 it's gonna be an awesome several years of gaming :D

tbh it's kind of dissapointing to hear and realize that all the same liscensing bullshit goes on behind the scenes for gaming tourneys as well as most everything else in life.

Was kind of hoping it was one of the more "pure" things available that didn't need to have all kinds of written documents and such, but... oh well.

The moment you posted this, I had 7 different Q4 videos from QCON 2005 on my hard drive - 558mb. A couple of them are singleplayer videos, but the rest are pure multiplayer. Fatality playing it, somebody else playing it, showing off the weapons, showing off the interface, etc etc.

Just look (here on ESR of all places) and you'll find them.
