No really, so many times I was suprised by how friendly everyone was. I was in a souvenir shop with Myers and we were saying how everything was rubbish. Then the guy behind the counter came over and started agreeing with us. The last day we were just wondering around Edinburgh and walking up to the castle and just talking to loads of random people. That stuff just doesn't happen in London.
The last time I was in London I spoke to loads of random people. Though they were all trying to sell me stolen underground cards/Big Issue magazines/crack.
Geee.. I used to live pretty close to the castle :*(
Edinburgh was a great place with nice people and great atmosphere, that's my impression after 6 months working and living there :) I'm so glad I picked Scotland over England - no offence though.
Not suprised to see 8/8 low altitude cloud coverage with some rain here and there hehe :p
Your hotel is on Princes Street - must've been pretty expensive but I'm sure you didn't pay Sujoy ^^
I was gonna say princess street, but after alooking a bit more carefully I thought it was just off it. near the holiday inn, towards the Zoo direction.
It is a special place though. Probably most unique place I been in the UK.
Actually it's the Hilton Caledonian on the corner of Princes Street. Bloody amazing hotel. I was marvelling at the red stone build.
I actually preferred the apartments we had for most of the week up at Dalry Road. Was awesome to have a huge living room-kitchen area with a bunch of friends for partying and playing poker. Just can't do that in a hotel.
Hilton is very nice indeed. Some friends of mine worked at Hilton just next to the Edinburgh airport. They managed to get 50% discount on any Hilton hotel in the UK so when Bob Dylan was going to Dublin we went there and stayed 3 days at the 5-star hotel. I'm not much of an experience hotelvisitor but that 5-star thing was bloody amazing. The best thing was the breakfast which was more like any expensive restaurant. After the jacuzzi and the auroma-aunas we went straight to the breakfast. Follow me sir, said this good-enough-looking (yes, swedish standard) girl and we followed her until we were satisfied with the size and location of the table. Unlimited freashsqueezed orangejuice was offered every 5 minutes. 5 different breakfasts, hot , cold, english, french and even the porridge was there.
We all felt like having breakfast 3-4 times a day :)
The concert itself wasn't that good. Bob was pissed at the crowd and my girlfriend was sleeping on my shoulder having fever. Fair enough - I had the best breakfasts in my life so far!
