hi guys, I am the creator of this Matrix Remake trailer. :)
Just happened to came around this site and noticed this thread, seems like not many people here liked this work ^_^||...

I am writing just wanting to ask for your help. It would be great if you can point out about which part of the clip was not done too well in your opinion . e.g. in terms of camera angles or the brightness, etc. Like the first post was pretty helpful in letting me know that I probably shouldnt have converted 4:3 to 16:9.

Your opinions would help me much in my time of learning how to use 3d applications and the HL2 engine. So, yeah, that's about it ^_^

okay, first of all the trailer is a mess, but I guess all trailers are a mess, tho they tend to "show" what a movie will be all about. Anyway, the capture/picture quality is wayy too low. What did you use 800x600 capturing? :S Use 1600x1200 and anti-aliase till you vomit. Also indeed resolution isnt good. And WHY did you even start on making a remake of a bad movie?
Anyways, Its easy to notice that you've put a lot of work in this, so thats the good thing.

When I was recording with Fraps using 6800GT, the setting was in 1280 X 960 resolution with all effects to highest. However the crystal clear raw uncompressed movie footage was like 300mbs, I'd say not too many people would want to download 300mb for a 1min 17secs movie clip right? :) That's why I chose to compress it into about 20mb. So eh, it's all about the downloading time vs. the picture quality :)

As for the original Matrix trailer bad or not, I won't go into that, purely perspective ;-), and coz my purpose is about making a remake of it, that's all.

lol~ that Kung Pow remake is a good idea, I had been thinking about it for a while. (I wanted to do that cow fighting part lol)

lol if I do make a kung pow remake, it would be like, the Half-Life 2 remake of a parody of a kung fun movie...lol that sounds weird.

My next project probably has something to do with the movie Equilibrium though :D

if you insist on making anything matrix related again, and i hope you do... i'd suggest either
- reloaded trailer, or burly brawl fight... now there's a challenge
- the mtv movie awards matrix spoof, it can be found on the reloaded dvd and is very funny :)

other than that this was okay, lip synching was okay, and seeing the professor doing some martial arts bought a wry smile to my face. keep up the good work and don't let the negativity of some of the guys here stop you doing what you wanna do. :-)

Yeha, the fight was pretty cool, or should I say kick. He looked totally in control ;)

The idea is fun and I guess it was put a lot of effort into making it but... The casting really put me off :( Wrong characters everywhere... Can't get a better Agent Smith than G-Man (or whatever his name is) I guess, but if I understood correctly he wasn't :s Instead Breen was Smith which... uuh :D
