i love this match, wish i had sid's pov too. nice little moment at the 0.40 mark where blokey was chasing him, he nearly falls into void but fires a rocket at the wall. was class on GTV

also the first game i can remember watching on gtv that ran smoothly (being 56k at the time)

Looking at that demo now I saw lots of mistakes from both players and Sid was very aggressive. Sids rail was nice though.

an okay demo, but blokey made the mistake of holding back half way through and lost some silly frags.

but to answer your question, its because uk generally suck 1v1 compared to countries like russia/swe/america, always have. So the best brits are actually just the best of a bad bunch =[

Zaccabus is doing well in the Pk world tour. And last time I checked isn't astz going to New York to play unreal tourney and has been pretty successful.
The reason the UK has been lagging behind is simply because up until a few years ago broadband has been non existent.2 years I thought it was so cool to have 1mbit.
Now that the UK is wired up I think you'll see a lot more action from the UK.
We own at pretty much everything we take seriously. Just a matter of time.

zaccubus is incredibly talented at gaming in general.. i really think that if he takes q4 seriously he will emerge in a big way within the first year.

If you understand games then you'll realise that players who can reach fourth have MORE than enough ability to place top 3.
He's probably not quite up there with fat or vo0 yet buy he's definitely one of several players who are really hot on their heels and by November I think he has a good chance of placing top 3.

And you're not correct, Ztrider had an aesome game vs Fat at the last stop and I'm talking losing by a whisker and he placed something like 5th or 6th and Zaccabus lost to Zyz by a whisker. So I know top 3 is possible.
So in UT 2004 and Pk the UK IMO has two very strong players.
And I bet 500 ESR they'll also have one or two in q4.

and ppl that rank 5th are more than able to get 4th... and ppl that get 128th are ofcuz more than able to make 127'th and thus indirectly get top3 ez... damn I'm a top player and didn't know it ;);)

If he was capable of top 3, he wlda got top 3. Its already been stated that he played the tourney of his life....and that got him 4th....

Also having a uk player top of pk is hardly something to write home about due to the incredibly small player pool.

I would like to see someone from uk be top of q4, but unfortunately i think it more likely that hell freeze over.

But lets wait for the release and see how people fare eh.

Whatever happened to sid indeed! After his last WCG despite reaching the last eight he just quit. The main reason for quiting was he only had isdn and online playing was totally frustrating. However he now has broadband and is also a uni student which means loads of time for gaming. He is eagerly awaiting the release of Q4 so watch this space!
