I know someone who just bought a G5 for use on his Icemat v2. He's currently deciding whether to go back to his MX518 or get a new mousepad.

one thing i failed to mention: a guy posting to one of the forums i was reading spoke of removing the rubber stoppers from the bottom of the Icemat and flipping the pad over to use the bottom. can anyone verify this functionality for me?

That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Not only will the pad slide around like mad unless you reglue the feet, but the bottom is a sort of paint. It'll be scratched off inside a day's use.

I was going to purchase the copperhead, but I have heard so many mixed feelings I was going to purchase the G5 instead.
Then I heard there are tracking issues with the G5 on certain surfaces so ATM I'm just sticking with my mx510.

Im a good quaker who should easily aim as good as the best .

And ive come to a conclusion that all gamers mousepads will never be as good as the 2$ cloth mousepad you buy at some local store.

Sure they might not last especially long ( 1-2 month ? ), but for the price of todays "gamers" mousepads you could buy a ton of em.

Just not buy a red one, dark blue is the best for optical .

I came to this same conclusion about a year ago, then i tried an icemat for a week. moreover, as i've already paid for one, i'd prefer to use it until it has no further use.
