As for the game I thought Fatality played great, I dunno if Voo bottled it or not dunno if he played really bad but Fatality really steped it up and hey thats what "pro" is about innit ? I saw alot of people on other threads/sites whined to fuck about his tactics but it seemed to me they were both running at times and when Fat had the game wrapped up who can blame him from hiding ... $150k on the line and hes already got it won.

I have to admit also, Painkiller seems alot more enjoyable to watched then I knew, feels ashame now i only tried it once @ its first release when it was laggy as hell mouse lag etc and deleted it :(.

yeah, instead of telling us what we can see, giving us inferences or predictions in a more theoretical aspect. but i guess this is planned to be broadcast on mtv and the majority of people who watch it on tv won't have much of a clue about competitive gaming...but they kinda do it normally when shoutcasting to competitive gamers too (stating the obvious that is) :)

i had a bit of a whinge on irc yesterday about the sportsmanship of this event, i was pretty disgusted overall. no 'gg', no handshake, not even a nod of the head.

yet i suppose they weren't very sportsman-like games on fatal1ty's behalf; waiting respawns out, camping etc..but his gameplay wasn't so rude that he didn't deserve to be praised or acknowledged either way. as everyone says, he did what he had to do to win the game, and if people like the CPL don't enforce any standard of sportsmanship, he's going to exploit it until the cows come home. just like under-arm bowling was banned in cricket after that australia vs new zealand atrocity... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/other...171705.stm I reckon the same type of regulation should be brought into gaming, especially now we're seeing games on TV with prize money of 150k USD.., camping should be the first to be reviewed, and to combat respawns...well i suppose PK is to blame here, as much as I don't like the idea of spawn rape full stop, I think the CPM spawn system is a much fairer attitude to the issue.

i think Vo0 brought his A-GAME, but it dwindled throughout the matches, probably a bit disheartened after the ridiculous bad luck of spawn frags. there were a couple of times when i was saying 'arrrg why did you pick up his dropped ammo instead pre-empting a respawn', and a couple of times when he went for SA instead of GA...but bleh i couldn't have done better.

btw, i was thinking about getting a set of HD280s a while back, but i heard they're uncomfortably tight, is this true Vo0? :D

how is forced spawning and camping for 5secs bad sportmanship? voo would have done the exact same thing if he were in jon's shoes. these are just bad excuses for disliking the outcome of the finals. i watched all the maps, jon just completely out played him. there was no luck or question involved, jon was just the better player that day.

Ideally there are NO rules ingame; the only rules we had was not quitting midgame, and not RJ out of "reach". Camping out spawns or playing defensive is NOTHING. It's perfectly valid and has nothing to do with bad sportsmanship. And about Vo0 bringing his A-game -- i think pretty much everyone who knows PK and Vo0 properly knew he didn't bring it. These guys are on such a high level that when they both play their best, the scores are very close.

Seriously watch the bottom left corner the last I dunno, 15 seconds maybe, watch the build-up that he tries to disguise a bit but just can't help when the crowd goes wield... That was an explosion set to detonate at exactly 00:00 and I don't think there was much to do about it :) The second my skill would earn me 50 grand over the "undisputed PK champion" after four straight maps in a final broadcasted on MTV... I'd probably go a tad out of control aswell.

Nerves. I played too cramped. I thought when I walked up there that I should just rocket fight him to death but I misplaced my first rocket and he was able to escape. I should have just fired a stake and it would have probably hit but like I said... nerves.
