are these player recorded demos? it's actually watchable for once. did the recording affect the computer performance at all? i hope the cpl demos are this quallity.
it was from an ooooold tournament i can't remember the name. i think that you've won it or came runner-up (that's why i chose to download demos from you :P) and i was absolutely amazed by how fast you could switch between weapons haha :D (i later found out that it was pretty standard but hey...)

oh and to answer your question, i have just found out that i had backed up my old q3 demos for my new computer and so during that tournament, you played Dta, mini and a guy named fatal1ty ;)

Dta and Mini lol ... that was the Dutch CPL qualifier ... i lost those demos myself unfortunately :( .... i won that tournament.
Fatal1ty i played during the 4th or 5th round of CPL Cologne ... i was pretty nervous n lost badly.

blip sucks so bad, i wonder how this map could ever end up being used for tournaments. no wait... people were desperate because the quake4 maps by raven were even worse...

i want maps that are fun and intelligent to play, if you need certain jumps to come around better, great. but don't build a map around the jumps, it's gotta be the other way around.
despite that, the map is ugly as hell...
it's very painful to watch blip demos... there's no flow, and all the ridiculous ramps certainly aren't helping. i know people just don't want to hear about bloodrun and aerowalk remakes, but at least those maps are fun to play and spectate
Edge was nice, maybe add a way to get to upper rl would speed up the gameplay a bit.
Bilp was unbearable, too much rocket spam, gameplay too random/chaotic. Also alot of moments where they see each other but can't do anything because no rail so shoot a harmless long range rocket. Laughable.
Phrantic had better flow but still too much rocket spam, not enough REAL fights. You'd think with no rails, there'd be more close combat situations yet they still run around spamming. Sigh. I think they're scared to die because of the low amount of armor.
Solution
1)Boost armor (yellow->100, red->200), make it easy to get at least 100 armor to encourage players to take risks
2)Increase movement speed, gameplay slightly too slow
3)Increase rocket speed
All 3 solutions make it harder for railwhores as well and encourages more firefights and less pussy shit.
It occured to me that you can create the perfect competitive/spectator game with video game technology. In a video game, there are literally no boundaries on what you can make. You don't even have to abide by the laws of physics.
Imagine... you create the perfect game. A game which can be played and watched over the internet, from the safety and comfort of your own home. It would epitomize convenience, and give people the richest form of entertainment competition can provide.
What competitive/spectator gaming needs now is some 'out-of-the-box' thinking on the part of the devs.
Of all the fancy camera angles etc that one can do...I still prefer to just view the game as one of the player's sees it. But perhaps giving spectators extra thing in view could improve the experience...multiview for one :D
Ok, devs... here is what you should be shooting for: Make the game look as good as possible for spectators, play as well as possible for players, and be suitable for people of all ages.
only a small group of people saw the final first hand, and ill bet that me and the rest of the people would agree that it was a great final to watch even though i think vo0 deservd to win he had the upperhand on blip and frantic but lost in the last 60 sec's, 2bad m8 gg's and wp rufus
