rail whore vs shaft whore \o/

This demo was just annoying, even though it was a good game.

A rail whore, I rate MUCH worse. Instead of hiding, and taking 100 point pot shots, with the LG, at least you have to be around your enemy, and deal damage over time.

nobody will respect a rail whore, although everyone will show respect for even decent rail skills if you got killer lg.

Omg! I just watched the Cooller - Nomadic demo on Phrantic.
If anybody remembers the total shutdown of Socrates on P-Dm6, that is the exact same thing.
Nomadic doesnt get one single frag over 15 minutes, its insane!
The demo is the mouz02 or mouz03 in the cpl directory.

Not bad for a Doom 3 player :)

there's slight problem that cooller can only pick one of two maps;)

Though I picked the top four exactly except for Fooki (I picked Cooller to win the whole thing), Cooller will NOT have any easy game against anybody.

Fox, Toxic, Fooki and Cooller are just super super strong. Personally, since Cooller was on top with the best competition in the previous game, I pick him.

Quake 3 doesn't have the best competition because the game demands it, but because the most players, for the longest time have had time to evolve and play it at high levels.

I'm listening to ITG right now... and they just brought up US vs Europe seconds ago.

Europe, and that was easy... except if CZM or Fat was in the tourny we might have some hope.

Aside from Socrates, I think CZM, Z4, fatal1ty are the only usa players who have a chance of USA getting top 5 in these tourneys.
Socrates is the only the USA player I have seen that shows top class form potential at this moment in time.
Anyone know if Crazyman and Z4 are actually still active?

It'll be fun to see what fatal1ty can do.

I.E. delete the beta versions.

I have same problem as he does/did..downloaded all stuff from their page and only has map_swq4dm1_final as you wrote. Getting error on the model (marine_blablala) and it shuts down..any advice?

Works fine for me, even with old phrantic maps or spaces etc... must be something else. I used this:

The only thing else I did was click the steamfish (I think) updater tool.
Did that, deleted the old versions of the Phrantic (cuz it kept loading the beta screen) and it worked;/

You need the new q4max files. Go to the q4max home page and download the two .pk4 files and put them in the q4max folder. Should fix your problem, and happy spectating :)

Cooller's LG is insanely good, nomadic's rail is awesome. It is obvious that Q4 maps must attempt to limit the power of those two weapons to provide varied gameplay.

They're not at the CPL site, but I also just got up, so they be at Cyberfight this morning...

They're on the cpl's ftp. Most of cooller's demo have him listed as 'mouz' instead of cooller.

Ok, how do I open the console? Would really appreciate some help (while apologizing for my inept ability to find the solution on my own). Currently my .cfg is set to "seta com_allowConsole "1" " and I have tried to bind the toggeconsole to various keys without any luck. Thanks in advance.

i though that this problem was fixed by one of the patches that came down the pipe?

ctrl + alt + ~ (tilde) to open console


also, put seta com_allowConsole 1 in an autoexec config

have you tried puttting the command in your run target?

something like "C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake 4\Quake4.exe" +set com_allowConsole 1

if that doesn't do it, then i'm out of ideas. :(
