The double negation of something is an american stylistic device to underline the message of the negation, isnt it? So, 'not not' == 'very not' here :o)
pretty nice demo, Vo0 played like he knew the map extremely well and his timing was fine, i think he forgot the mega timing once and missed the mega 2 times
i want to see zamuz on phrantic or blip, and see a good control of the map, zamuz`s timer was horrible, and the railgun the same too bad. well zamuz is comback awaiting 1 month more, and see the results.
Like a few people said here, Z4muZ has just started playing q4 seriousley, most of the good players has played 1 month more than him, just wait a month or 2 =) he will be on top of the world together with cooller making sweet frags.
agreed. very nice movement and overall understanding of the map. two things he could do better:
1. hit something with the rail ;)
2. if going to upper ya on fleet, he needs to be more careful and look for snipers at lg and lower ya. That's something, that toxic makes pretty good on fleet.
ah.. and getting outshafted with 200/100, wtf ? :)
watched the demo 2 times now and I simply don't get why people keep complaining about his rail.
Sure: he missed 2 or 3 "easy" shots, but on the other hand managed to hit 5 or 6 rails in a row in other situations. Overall he got around 45-50% rail accuracy. Not that bad, is ist?
we are talking about perfection right? at this level of play, every mistake gets punished. z4muz aint cooller (at least not yet) skill-wise. there were nice shots of course, but it's not that hard to hit 45 rail in q4. especially on fleet, where you just wait until someone walks into your aim... there were situations were he missed easy rails, that gave the enemy an armor or mh. i saw the demo and thought that the only thing he could not really practice by playing pk is rail aim. his movement skills are superior, rocket aim, even shaft aim is great. but stake feels very different compared to rail, so if I would be a personal coach of vo0 (which I am btw. he pays me lotsa money to teach him all my quake secrets!) i'd suggest to work on the rail to win the WT...
I totally agree with you that perfection is very important on this skill level and I do play the game long enough to understand, that missing some shots can cost you a whole game.
It's just that when I first read the comments I was expecting his rail was totally off, but when I watched the demo I thought he actually hit quite well. Not perfect, but not bad either :-)
And people keep talking about 45% rail not beeing that hard. But when I look back to the last ton of games, I specced, people didn't hit easy 60% on a constant basis, either.
Well I was simply surprised, when I watched the demo, that was my whole point.
I have to agree, that improving his rail might be a good idea if he wants to stand a chance against the very top players, though.
Actually, my rail is alot better now than it was before pk, that i played two years; does not really make sense, but still -- it's my best weapon in q4 :o)
probably due to the speed of PK. i found when i came back to quake series after playing pk, everything felt so slow and easy to hit, and my aim with every weapon was like 5x better. which is why we need TIMESCALE IN MULTIPLAYER !!!! ;((
Well what catched my eye is the speed i managed to create when going to the upper ya (from the 5h blips), never saw any use in crouchsliding, but in this demo i can.
It goes "insanely" fast compared to just "strafejumping"
got some q's.
-what q4 version are these demo running at?
-is there some additional files that I need to install or I can just play them from the console? (mods, maps, etc)
