Does anyone else think Galang looks like shit? It's filled with blood, 'cat barf and metal', as one person put it. We're talking about martial arts here. Get rid of the martial and keep the arts. Which means, get rid of all the bad parts of martial arts, and keep the good. Get rid of the violence/blood/guts/etc. Even though that stuff sells, it doesn't sell as well as sports. You could easily maintain the exact same gameplay and only remove those elements.

For example: a person does not need to explode in a shower of blood and guts... you could make them explode in a shower of fireworks, or puppy dogs, or kitty kats. Imagine, you shoot someone with a rocket and they explode in a shower of lollipops. Now take that angle and apply a sports idea to it, and you've got a winner.

Get creative... keep the sporting aspects, remove the violence/sex aspects (which are just cheap forms of exploitation), and focus on the arts portion of martial arts.

in serious sam you could change the blood effects to red, green and hippy.

with 'hippy' turned on, the blood would be flowers and the gibs pieces of fruit.

This game, or sport if you will, involves tracking someone through an enclosed space with no real exit and doing enough harm to their virtual person to cause them to die. No amount of "fireworks, or puppy dogs, or kitty kats" will pretty that up. If it causes you so much discomfort, ffs, PLEASE stop playing as you do not seem to be able to remove yourself from the artificial environment you have chosen to play in. Failing that, turn off the blood and gibs on your client and leave the rest of us alone.

Boxing, MMA, shit, football, hockey, and so on. All 'violent' sports. Yet still popular, shocking isnt it. Go back and you will see that violent sport is ingrained into human culture, odd eh?

Tell you what. Make a mod for the game with the features you want, see how popular it is.

first off, the map looks fine. the only real complaint is that all the maps for q4 use the same texture set and it gets old
2nd, how in the hell do you plan on spraying someone down with a nail gun and not have blood, guts and gore all over the walls? Not to mention a rocket to someone's chest
