1. The team's match lineup consists of players that have at least a premium subscription.
or
2. The team's match lineup consists of at least one player with a pro account, while rest of the players can be with standard accounts.
Any team that starts a match without fulfilling these requirements will be sanctioned with a red card and a default loss. If a cup supervisor requests access to the server for streamers with premium subscription or higher, then the server spawner must allow them access to the server.
ClanBase admins will be able to spawn servers upon request but will NOT invite, which means that teams with standard users in the match lineup will not be able to play on CB servers.

After a successful performance of their two Unreal 3 players, Gamelimited decided to go another way, as they will be more focusing on Quake Live. Two players have been added to strengthen their dueling squad. Both Viaceslavas 'fire_bot' Duk and Fredrik 'assign' Junttila are now in the team. Fire_bot and Assign are considered to be quality and up-and-coming players in Quake Live. Wieke 'LanDi' Loman will be the new team captain of the squad.
"I got the opportunity from the Gamelimited guys and I see this as a good start and it will give me more motivation winning tournaments. I feel that Gamelimited is a good community with good people behind the scene."
XMPP failure again. This is 4th time ql is down in a few days. I know this will sound like troll attempt or bullshit remark, but has anyone been thinking about going back to Q3 CPMA ?
After all it would work all the time, u will get better netcode, gtv, all those good things that will never happen in ql and best of all it's all for free.
So who think that going back to q3 would actually be a good idea ?
I know ppl that started playing Quake with ql will probably think, going back to q3 is kinda a lot of work , so I included this Automatic Q3 installer, which can help anyone to install and have latest stuff up-to-date regarding q3 (I haven't checked that installer myself so I'm not sure it works 100%).
Anyway, your thoughts ?

Update: Match between iM and alpha will be played Tuesday 15:00 CST, 23 November 2010. Match preview is published. Stream will be provided by ad.tv.
At the moment I'm using DA at 450 dpi, and I moved from 1024x768 (4:3) to 1280x800 (16:10) which I use for quite some time now.
But would I benefit for having higher mouse dpi settings considering Im playing on kinda higher res with only 450 dpi ?
If I were to play on 1680 x 1050 how much better would be to use 1800 dpi instead of only 450 dpi (ofc even if I use 1800 dpi I would just quarter my in-game sens, so my real sens stays the same) ?
In short, whats the optimal setting between mouse dpi and monitor resolution ?
In the group A though xentorium is closest to securing spot for themselves if they win their final match vs e-violence. If not mowers might have a chance IF they win their both matches, which is not likely to happen but chance is still there.

Since the rise of Quake Live after it's initial release, there wasn't any site dedicated to competitive TDM and tactics for it where less skilled players could learn from. Therefore dk from respected TDM team 4Kings decided to put up a site where he would explain tactics for the QL TDM maps and his view on teamplay in general. Several other known players like chance, JoCKo and dash are helping with the content, so the success of the site is unquestioned. As of now only Grim Dungeons(dm14) tact is up, with others to follow. As the new (map) strategies are up, some of the old ones will get more insight for more advanced players.
Esports Heaven site have been updated two weeks ago with some interesting changes that might interest any player.
Next to various bug fixes that will help admins and players alike, most important addition to the site is "Host a Cup" option that will allow any registered member to host its own cup. Any user cup that is submitted will have to be approved by ESH admins first, and then cup can be ran like any other cup on ESH.
- Admin Interface Revamp
- User Generated Cups!
- Greater control of sub-admins
- General Interface Upgrades
- Top 3 of newly run tournaments now have cups displayed on their player and team profile after finishing top 3 in a tournament.
- Fancy Text Editor for the news, forums and commenting system
- Upgrade on Page browser
- Tournament Brackets view slightly improved, rounded boxes and full screen
- Check in System for tournaments to improve the amount of no-shows and reduce them
- Player ID reorganization
- You can game filter matches
- And much, much more
Organising and adminning your own tournament has never been so easy to setup and do. Simply click on the "Host A Cup" tab in the main menu bar (on the top of the site) and you will be taken to an easy to fill out form where you can define the parameters of the tournament you would like to run. You can select between single and double elimination, group stages, various games, maps, timings, seeding systems and much more. Then wait a bit for your tournament to be accepted by an admin and you are good to go!

CB Quake Live 2v2 SC has finished in spite of delays and noshows due to vacations. Generally it was a nice season for anyone who followed it. The highlight of the season was indeed final game where METSU managed to win vs 4K in a thrilling 3-mapper. METSU was down first map with a massive score difference (dm6), and managed to come back in the next two maps (ztn, t6). Awesome game with match report & demos and VODs already published.

Team modes
Several premium maps have been added to the map list. This means that every team's match lineup must consist of one of the following two configurations for the cup matches:
1) The team's match lineup consists of players that have at least a premium subscription.
2) The team's match lineup consists of one player with a standard account, one player with pro subscription and the remaining players on the team must have premium subscription or higher.
Any team that starts a match without fulfilling these requirements will be sanctioned with a red card and a default loss. In case of #2, the user that spawns the server is obligated to invite up to one standard user from each team. If a cup supervisor requests access to the server for streamers, with premium subscription or higher, then the server spawner must allow them access to the server.
ClanBase admins will be able to spawn servers upon request but will NOT invite, which means that teams with standard users in the match lineup will not be able to play on CB servers.
Duel
All players that want to participate in this cup will need to have at least Premium account.

Thanks ;)

Unfortunately there has been many bad reactions to dazator's play where he easily pwned all players in this tourney including deji in the finals with the ridiculous score difference. The rumors are that dazator could be fake-nicker but regardless of that his skill definitely preceeds anyone else's (regarding amateur or semi-pro) and as such might not eligible to play in Amateur Cup and some other player would take his spot in the finals. Demos from the finals are already uploaded.

Pro`s won`t be allowed and all players who wish to participate will have to enter their PlayerIDs before they will be allowed to participate in any of these cups.
ZOTAC Hall of Fame will be used once again to show which players are not allowed to participate, so they wouldn't bother signing up. All players that finished in top 4 in any of these cups won't be allowed. Of course some others might not be allowed as well if admins feel they are too strong for this tourney.

Since the cup went smooth and with a lot of interest from the community, we were thinking about finishing this awesome season with an all-star match. The idea is to present best nations from this season (as you can see above), with their first teams (where it was possible) and to let all of you guys vote for 2 players from each nation. That would give us 8 players to be chosen ones for this match. After that two captains are selected between players ( with admin help if needed) and they pick-up rest of the 6 players from the list. That should give us best of the best from this NC CTF cup.
CTF All-star match is scheduled for 14:00 CDT, 16 May 2010 and voting period is closing 14:00 CDT, 9 May 2010. Coverage will be done by holysh1t.tv as usual. For nominated players see the link below.
Few days ago guy called G4hns released some interesting information over #quakelive irc channel, about working on some kind of GTV for Quake Live.
As interesting as it sounds, G4hns didn`t want to go into details about how QL GTV actually works, only said it works on completely new code and it`s not modified GTV from Q3.
Also 2 video teasers were released as well, that might support the idea of GTV in Quake Live.
Of course it`s supposedly all in the early alpha stage, but these videos might (or may not) prove that some kind of work is in progress as you are reading this.
If this is reality or not, or how close we might be to actually hoping for QL GTV is unknown at this point. But more news concerning this project are surely awaiting to be released.
So, fake or real - possible or not ?

There were few no-shows in the cup, especially disappointing was k1llsen who dropped in the quarterfinals, and who was one of the main contenders for the 1st place.
Anyway cup went very good and ESH admins expecting even more players next time which will be very soon (in a week or so).
After few (more or less) successful ONW cups for Quake Live, ESH admins decided to introduce some sponsored cups with money prizes, this time supported by Western Digital.
Next 3 weeks will all be featuring one cup per week, with Tuesday and Thursday as cup-running days. First we start with Duel cup and prize of 50 Euro for first place, then following with 2v2 cup and prize of 100 Euro and third week will feature Duel/2v2 depending on success of each game type.
QL Duel Western Digital Challenge is already announced, and registrations for the event accepted. QL 2v2 Western Digital Challenge registrations will be open in following days.
Scheduled: 12:00 CDT, 5 May 2010 to 17:00 CDT, 5 May 2010 Schedule: Passed
Update: The cup is over and although it was cup with a even less registrations then last time and with a lot of no-shows, it still managed to be nice for anyone who was spectating the matches (although there were some technical problems as well concerning stream) and probably for the players themselves.
Nevertheless, cherubim took the best of last event`s runner-ups METSU, leaving them in second spot this time as well, but with an awesome game on their hands. Third place goes to 4k who lost by METSU in semi-finals.
Yet another Quake Live 2v2 one-day cup is coming next Wednesday 12:00 CDT, 5 May 2010 at Esports Heaven. Format of the cup is 16-slot Single elimination Bo3. The schedule is pretty tight so all teams should follow it with the least of delays.
* eSports Heaven admins reserve the right to schedule semifinal matches one after another if any broadcasting partners are streaming the matches, although it could prolong the duration of the cup.
For members unfamiliar with the ESH page: player account, clan and team/squad under the clan should be created to be able to join the cup.
More info at the Cup page.
Quake Live NationsCups on ClanBase are coming to end, but we still have a few awesome matches to look forward to. The TDM final France vs Poland and the Bronze final Serbia vs UK will get delayed until the next week. But tonight we got the CTF Final between Germany and France at 13:00 CST in a game that could represent revenge for Team France's lost game vs Germany in the group stage.
The game will be streamed by holysh1t.tv with a few surprises from their side, so be sure to log in before the game starts.
