Any recommendations from people who have done research lately?

I just bought cheap Deathadder Chroma, and it seems to be fake (hardware looks just as regular one, but synapse does not recognize it).
So my problem now is how to change dpi?
I cannot return it, so I wanna ask you guys is there any way to change dpi, if not I guess I can put my old deathadder 3g sensor in it which is already set to 450dpi.
Advice is welcome.

Hi there,
I'm not sure if I'm just so unlucky, but I'm about to return my 3rd monitor with IPS panel.
First one was AOC i2480SX, third of the screen was bleeding.
I switched that one for AOC i240SXH, which was much better (luckily I guess, since they are basically sharing same panel), but power button wasn't working.
So I figured AOC is crap, and I took Dell U2414H, monitor with good reviews.
And this is what I got:

So is it impossible to get solid IPS panel in this price range, maybe I'm better off with some TN gaming monitor with 144hz, since currently my 10 years old 2233rz, kills any of these new IPS ones?

My trusty DA 3G is about to go out after ~ 10 years(!). Sensor is still good as ever, but left click is kinda broken, sometimes it doesn't register clicks mid fights.
So I'm not sure which new version of DA to go with, can you guys recommend if you owned some of those mentioned in the heading ?
Also is it possible to somehow clean existing switch in my current DA, if I was to open it up ?

Anyone familiar with oc'ing this cpu or or oc'ing in general ?
Apparently I pushed it to 4.5Ghz using 1.335 vcore, seems stable so far, need to run prime95 longer test though.
I\m not sure about LLC, and how it affects vdrop or how its called. I put it to extreme, but I feel it might be bad idea. That means I disabled vdrop essentially ? Maybe reduce it to Very High ?
My temp is 40C idle to 70-75C under heaviest load (intel burn test). Usually around 65C under 100% load in prime95.
Also cpu-z shows vcore which iincrease to 1.360V even and sometimes drop more. Is that normal ?
Should I modify LLC in some other way ?
Also I enabled PLL voltage, dunno if I could have gotten without it ?
I also put VCCIO voltage to 1.1v.
Duty control and Phase Control to extreme also.
Any input is appreciated.

Time has come for new Clan Arena season at
House of Quake ! Signups will be open from 1st of March to the 20th of March. The first league match starts at 15:00 CDT, 24 March 2016.
Cup day for CA league will remain at Thursday as with previous seasons. Rules have been
updated and similar as with TDM cup, there will be a squad player limit. Limit is set at 8 players per squad. Mappool is changed from last season:
Asylum,

Overkill,
Quarantine,
Hidden Fortress,
ra3map9,
ra3map20.
Also players and team managers should make sure that all players in squad have their
steamid entered in profile's designated field, otherwise they will not be eligible to play any matches.

Is is standard option for smart tv sets to have ability to stream movie from another computer in home network ? That's one option that I need from smart tv or do I need some separate media player for that ?

If I have 2 slots with 2Gb ram and wanna add 2x 4gb in other 2 slots, will they still work in dual channel?
Also do mem timings need to be the same for 2 mem sticks yo work in dual channel?

Italian Death Squad 3 respectively, while second division doesn't have one team that stands up so far, and could prove to be most interesting one.
There are some major changes in cup settings, you can read more about it below.
We have released our own factories that servers owners will have to install on their servers (HoQ factories) when playing official matches. Of course, we will provide servers for teams that don't have their own to play on with the same factories (just ask admins in #hoqleagues).
Important to mention is that gameplay in those factories is modified to classic, which means HMG is removed, no BunnyHop, no CrouchStepJump.
All the players are now required to enter their Steam ID on the HoQ website, you can read more about it. After the match, all winning teams must send screenshots of each map to: ca AT houseofquake DOT com.

I might be in the market for an Abyssus, purely cause of its shape. I'm bit worried about sensor though. Can someone shed some light on it ? Jitter, prediction, max. speed, negative accel and so on ? Especially for latest 2014 version ? Older ones I remember used to have DA 3.5G sensor in them, so I don't need that info.
I'm low senser so max. speed is most important for me, not so much LOD.

Anyone can recommend any gaming cms ? When I say gaming I mean, it needs to have clan functions like players, teams, played matches, calendar, upcoming matches, etc., besides standard options for cms like forums, news section and so on.
Also would be great if it's regularly updated and has a free license.

Esports Heaven Spring Cup 2014 has come to an end. On the next pages you can find match reports of all games that have been played in any of the game modes we ran (TDM, CTF, CA) alongside with VODs that were recorded and final standings.
TDM proved once again to be most popular game mode, with 18 signups, spread across 3 divisions and it had 7 dropouts from the league. All in all, it is considered success even though its evident that TDM numbers are in decline as well.
CTF failed with only 8 signups and 2 dropouts. Under normal circumstances cup would be canceled with this number of teams, but we decided to respect the teams that actually signed up and run the league after all. It was played in
Double Round Robin format as playoffs weren't viable at all.
CA had solid 14 signups and only 3 dropouts from the league. It had two divisions and was followed by CA players regularly, so its also considered a success.
ESH will be back for Fall Cup 2014, while we are taking a break at summer. Big thanks to

Cup start next week at
Monday 21 April 2014. Designated match days for TDM, CTF and CA are Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday at 13:00 CST respectively. Full schedule can be seen on cup pages below.
Important to mention is that CTF cup due to low number of signups won't have playoffs, instead whole cup will be played in
Double Round Robin stage with 2 matches played vs each enemy. TDM and CA will have playoffs after the group stage as already anounced.

After unfortunate death of
ClanBase and lack of quality Quake Live seasonal cups at the moment,
Esports Heaven is gonna start seasonal QL action very soon for action-hungry teams. Upcoming cups should be run in TDM, CTF and CA game modes. More details to follow.
Therefore, ESH is looking for skilled and dedicated QL admins willing to put time into upcoming cups. Admins needed at the moment, are specifically for CTF and CA game modes. Any applications should be sent
here or by iMsg to me on this very site.

ClanBase, once great and respected league, has come to the end of the road. CB management have put
statement out explaining the reasons behind shutting down. Even though CB wasn't so popular lately to a large number of gamers around the world, it was home for many old school games including UT, ET, CoD2, MoH:AA and Quake, and will surely be missed by many.

The Final Statement by ClanBase
Dear everyone,
ClanBase is no more, we are sorry.
For those unfamiliar with the name: ClanBase once was a cool site to visit if you were an online gamer. With cups and ladders hosted for games such as the Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike and Call of Duty series, a teenager really had quite some options for multiplayer entertainment. Heck, we even had LAN finals for our renowned EuroCups.
Those days are far behind us and as it stands today, the company that owns the ClanBase site - GGL - is unable to cover the costs required to run the website. Moreover, lately the owners of the site do not wish to cooperate with the voluntary crew, keeping everybody in the dark and thus showing complete disrespect to people who spend many hours a day trying to make our tournaments a success.
The website has now been offline for more than three weeks due to an unpaid bill. No action is being taken by the owner to get the website back online. Having no vision for the future, we - the ClanBase Crew - have lost our last hopes about ClanBase ever coming back online, and unfortunately we announce the end of a great era.
The history and the truth as the ClanBase Crew sees it
A US-based company called Global Gaming League (Professional Interactive Entertainment, Inc.) noticed the success of the site and bought it from the original owners in December of 2004. They had financial backing for server hosting and our tournaments. Things were going well until in 2007 CB suffered its first heart attack when GGL couldn’t deliver the prize money they put up for the EuroCup. This can be marked as the start of our downfall.
The CB Crew has always been made up of volunteers with the majority being just teenagers. There was no possibility for us to come up with the money on our own that was promised, yet we were always the ones getting blamed. After all, it was our cup season and our name. It is no surprise that after this blow there was no way for us to host another season with the promise of any kind of prize until the debt was settled with the previous winners.
To this day, GGL owes around €24,000 in prize money which will never be settled. The other sites who were in the same gaming business of course had no problems hosting their tournaments however they wanted. ClanBase, however, lost a great deal of its reputation along with some top teams who never got their winnings.
As time went by the site also started to decay. After the takeover we had paid developers who tried to put the code in shape. There were some noteworthy developments such as the seasonal and invitational ladders, but after the first test run we couldn’t get the necessary changes implemented - because GGL stopped paying the developers.
Money. The source of all evil.
GGL started moving the servers between hosts (RackSpace, Amazon, GreenQloud) to save costs, and to avoid further missed payments. This appeared in the news a few times when providers came out with how they were lied to. We also lost the ability to upload files anything other than demos. Fortunately, a Crew member had the means to help out.
Funding continued to dry up. After the first wave of cuts where we lost the two developers and a head admin, things cooled down for a while. Recently, a general system administrator was cut off which got interesting at one point when CB suffered a denial of service attack to which the host (GreenQloud) responded with moving the servers to a different IP address. However, the domain name had to be updated as well to point to the new address. Since our sysadmin was not getting paid, he refused to perform this, essentially holding the site hostage for a while.
So how do we get money? The site had ads for a while which obviously was not enough. We may have been naive thinking that upping the quality of the site would be a good move, which was promised more times we bother to count. GGL thought otherwise. In fact, many of the cool features our gamers would have loved to see on the website were never implemented - because “CBv2” was supposedly just around the corner.
Their first bold move was trying to get adult banners on CB - a website that was home for thousands of teenagers. The Crew was shocked and appalled by this. Fortunately, we managed to get our voice through (by threatening to go on strike) - but we also lost several valuable crew members who had enough of the poor conditions and bad decision making.
Next to adult material, gambling can also be a good source of income. The Poker and Betting ladders were introduced. It is doubtful that much money was ever made of this, at least nobody said otherwise. The only thing certain is that these projects never got off the ground.
A poor attempt was also made to gather money in the form of offering VIP membership. Nobody took this very seriously and as expected, nobody bothered to opt in after a while. The only benefit to having VIP was the ability to get rid of some of the ads. Perhaps a regular donation system would’ve been more useful.
By the end of August 2013, yet another problem surfaced: the money ran out for the hosting. This is when CB started to go down every month when the time came to pay for the next 30 days.
Of course we tried contacting GGL through our manager who was in charge of handling communications. As you may have guessed by now, he also failed to receive his payment for a while and a company owing money to you, and who knows how many others, is not in a hurry to get back to you.
The ClanBase management tried to directly contact the GGL founder and president Ted Owen (since everyone else left), with very little success. Whenever we got a response it usually consisted of no more than a few words.
The last we heard from him, he stated that “GGL will move on without ClanBase, and besides, why did the Crew never put any money in it?”
Mr. Owen, the Crew put time in it. A lot of time... for free. Every day. And to clarify, nobody has ever reached out to us to ask for any kind of financial aid. Not that we would’ve ever agreed to anything if the money had to go through GGL as that would’ve resulted in the money never reaching its intended destination.
Ultimately, we understand that our users would have expected us to come out with the truth sooner. It has taken us three weeks to make a public statement - but the only reason it took so long is that we were trying to not lose the hope and to reach out to mr. Owen. Unfortunately, our last request (or offer) to him - to release the ClanBase site to the crew for us to be able to continue running it on our own, without the GGL - was not welcomed.
It is thus our sad duty to inform you that ClanBase is gone. We would like to sincerely thank over a thousand admins working on the website over the past 15 years of ClanBase’s existence. And an even bigger thanks goes out to all the players who supported us over the years and who did not lose faith no matter what.
This writing has not come easily because ClanBase has been a big part of our lives, and we definitely did not want to see it end like this.

Anyone else experiencing massive lag lately ? I usually ping around 40-45 to DE, last few days its almost always 80 and going over 120 in some cases.

Third week brings us several very important games. In Group A,
France meet
Poland and in Group B,
Denmark fight against
Russia for the first place in the group.
Unfortunately, probably hardest group in the cup, Group C, had least action for now, but
Sweden is looking strong so far. Group D, hopefully, can give us upset in form of
Hungary, but it's yet to be seen.

Qualifiers have been published and they all must be played by
Wednesday, 23rd of January 2013 the latest. After that groups will be drawn and published, and cup starts
Monday, 28th of January 2013.
Any captain that has not been added to the National Team yet (and given trustee!), should immediately contact designated cup sup/s. Also captains should be adding players inside the team already.
One more thing important to be mentioned is that there have been some rule changes regarding allowed players. In short, rule known as
3-player rule has been discontinued. Read all about it

ClanBase announced
NationsCup XVI today. It will include 13 cups over 9 games, where
Quake Live will be represented with 3 cups mentioned below. Captain signups are already open, as well as admin signups for people who want to get involved and help with the cup.

- CB NC XVI iCTF - (Captain signup, Admin signup)
Full info follows:
Stage 1 - Captains apply
In this stage, players will be able to apply for the position of team captain for their respective nations. They can do this, by using the designated menublock on the right side of the cup page.
Please keep in mind that your application should be well motivated. All players will be able to see who applied for their own nation by using the menublock, mentioned above. This stage will run until 6th of January. No applications will be taken into consideration after this day.
Stage 2 - Players vote
Once all the applicants are known, players will be able to vote for their favourite candidate. There are few details to which we would like you to pay special attention. First of all, once you have voted, you cannot vote again or change your previous vote. Second, an applicant cannot vote for himself and third, when voting, you will be asked to motivate your vote. We would like to ask you to take this seriously.
All votes are kept anonymous. This stage will run until the 13th of January . In the end, the cup supervisors will determine the captains.
Stage 3 - Vote ended
After the votes have been taken into consideration, the cup supervisors will announce all team captains on Wednesday 16th of January.
National captains
We again are using the voting system to elect national team captains. The system is very simple: Anyone who would like to apply as captain for his nation can fill in the short application form which appears on the menublock on the right hand side of each cup. Of course, you are still expected to gather enough support from the community - just instead of documented support, you will have to achieve it on the voting process on ClanBase.
The first stage for applying as captains will close on Sunday, 6th of January. The next stage will be the voting process - which will commence once the captains signups have closed. This section will end on Sunday, 13th of January. Any user is able to vote only one time for one candidate. The voting process is anonymous to ensure a safe election. In some cups we may close the signups a bit earlier if we see there are no new candidates and/or that a substantial amount of votes have been cast.
At the final stage the selected captain will be chosen by the cup supervisors with the help of the National Team Managers. They will be chosen according to the support (votes and comments), application and record of the applicant. Previous season captains don't get selected automatically and still have to apply. The captains announcement for each cup will be on Wednesday, 16th of January.
National Team Managers
We will again be cooperating with the National Team Managers this season. In case you are new or if you have forgotten already - the task of the National Team Manager is to maintain and establish a competitive list of squads which will participate in the NationsCups by monitoring the different captains, teams and acting as a link between the teams and the CB Crew where needed.
We are currently processing the applications we have received and will be adding a few new Managers in the course of next week. We are glad to see many have also stayed with us for yet another season after doing it successfully last time. You can see who is your own National Team Manager in here.
As last time, we will use only one clan for each nation this season as well. If you are elected as team captain - contact your team Manager to be added to the national clan.
National team players
The rules for who is allowed to play or not have not been majorly altered since the last season. Players are still only allowed to play for a nation if they have the nationality of it. We will take severe measures against any player, captain or team which have a hand in faking nationalities.
Like in the previous season, we have set the date for a clan to be considered as "active" for the 3 player rule to the first day of the OpenCup/EuroCup Fall Season. This year this date is: 8th of October 2012. More about the rule can be found in our NationsCups Rules FAQ. Exceptions may apply after consulting with the Supervisors of the cup.

If there is a team that stand up from the rest in
EC XXVI, it is team
sitto. First in the group with all 5 wins and without a single map dropped in the entire tournament, they're fighting in the finals, pretty much deservedly. Second finalist is best russian team
Deliberate Murder, who came to the finals following harder path, by being 2nd in the group and fighting it all the way through (counting minor losses on the way up), which in the end could've made them strong enough for the final game.
Bronze final will be the group stage rematch between
Lemmings Effect and
l0wfly, where
l0wfly is getting a second chance against solid team of
le who will need to win this game to prove to themselves that fiasco from last match was nothing more than that.

Have mine for a few years now, but stopped playing QL for about year and at some point movement keys (in my case arrow keys) stopped working as expected. Sometimes I have to push really hard to get key to respond and sometimes it will count two times (when I play I really push them hard - possibly the reason for their malfunction).
Is there some way to clean them or something so they continue to work or I have to replace the whole keyboard ?
Help is appreciated.

NationsCup XV has been announced today on
ClanBase. This years NC will have 12 competitions over 11 games.
Quake Live will be represented only with TDM cup. Complete schedule and captain selection procedure which has already started, can be seen below.
Captains can apply
here. As always people willing to help with the cups will be able to do so by applying as
admins.
Stage 1 - Captains apply
In this stage, players will be able to apply for the position of team captain for their respective nations. They can do this, by using the designated menublock on the right side of the cup page.
Please keep in mind that your application should be well motivated. All players will be able to see who applied for their own nation by using the menublock, mentioned above. This stage will run until Sunday, the 25th of December. No applications will be taken into consideration after this day.
Stage 2 - Players vote
Once all the applicants are known, players will be able to vote for their favourite candidate. There are few details to which we would like you to pay special attention. First of all, once you have voted, you cannot vote again or change your previous vote. Second, an applicant cannot vote for himself and third, when voting, you will be asked to motivate your vote. We would like to ask you to take this seriously.
All votes are kept anonymous. This stage will run from the 25th of December until the 3th of January. In the end, the cup supervisors will determine the captains.
Stage 3 - Vote ended
After the votes have been taken into consideration, the cup supervisors will announce all team captains on Thursday, the 5th of January.
If you have any questions concerning this system, please feel free to contact both supervisors in any way you see fit.

The 24th edition of the
ClanBase Quake Live TDM EuroCup will feature 8 direct invites and 4 qualifiers. The group stage will be composed of 6 teams per group, with 2 groups in total, for 12 participating teams combined. From each group, 3 clans will make it to the playoffs. This season's playoffs will be played using double elimination.
All qualifiers have to be scheduled by
15:00 CDT, 21 September 2011 and played by
15:00 CDT, 28 September 2011. Both EC and OC TDM groups will be published right after that with cups starting
3 October 2011, so teams have several days to schedule their first matches.

ClanBase presents
EC/OC Fall 2011 season where cups will be ran for 21 game, with 5 EuroCups and 51 OpenCups. This season's
QL EuroCup will use
TDM as it's main gametype as last season.
This season we have decided to expand our regular pool of gametypes by adding 2v2 TDM as well as iFT. Check complete list of QL cups down below with signup links. Signups close on 11th of September.
Of course, if anyone feels like helping with the cups, either writing match reports or being a referee, can do that by applying as Cup Admin, so we can together ensure that coverage of the upcoming cups are on the highest level possible. Admin signup links below.

eSports Heaven, time has come for next installment of 4v4 TDM cup on ESH, that is called
Alienware Challenge, with a prize of £250.

EuroCup QL TDM has come to an end. Unfortunately, in spite of good start of the season, at the very end there were a bunch of noshows, with cup going into a summer a little bit more then planned.
4Kings have taken first place, coming from UB side of the bracket, without losing any games.
METSU managed to take second place easily, with several default wins, and
xt followed with the third place.
