While most of Europe & North America are busy playing the StarCraft II Beta, the Korean Professionals are still playing StarCraft: Broodwar on the highest of levels. Therefor, on the upcoming Weekend 04:00 CDT, 29 May 2010 the Grand Final of the Hana Daetoo Securities MBCGame Starleague 2010 will take place.
After losing 3-2 to EffOrt last Weekend in the Grand Final of the OSL and not winning his Golden Mouse (for winning a StarLeague 3 times) the "Ultimate Weapon" Lee Young Ho aka Flash (KeSPA #1) from KT Rolster is going up against Hwaseung OZ's "Legend Killer" Lee Jae Dong aka Jaedong (KeSPA #2). Last Season the MSL Grand Final, between Flash and Jaedong aswell, was one huge mess thanks to a power failure followed by a highly debatable decision by KeSPA to give the game to Jaedong after which Flash lost the entire Best of 5 Series. Can Jaedong win yet another MSL or will Flash finally be able to get back at him.

GameSports' next ZOTAC Starcraft 2 Beta Cup takes places next Sunday, 07:00 CDT, 28 March 2010. There's 100 € price money up for grabs and we're currently thinking about doubling the grid size from 512 to 1024 participants thanks to the amazing 662 sign-ups and the full check-in list (512 players!). Apparently Blizzard has just started sending out the first waves of betakeys for the highly anticipated StarCraft 2. Earlier today the minimum System requirements have been brought to light:
• Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7
• 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
• 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
• 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
• 1024x768 minimum display resolution
• 4 GB free hard space (Beta)
• Broadband connection
So far it is unclear whether the keys are being distributed to fansite recommendations, blizzcon key winners or opt-ins. I will keep you posted once I have more info.
Update 1 (Source???)
We don’t have an exact start date to share at this time, but note that when it does begin, we will be adding additional regions to the beta test in phases. North America, Australia, and New Zealand will be the first regions to begin beta testing, and other regions will follow afterward in phases. We will have more information to share about all of these phases in the future.

The most anticipated Starcraft match for quite some time.
The most likely best Terran of all Time Lee Young Ho "Flash" against
the most likely best Zerg of all Time Lee Jae Dong "Jaedong".
While Jaedong hasn't been doing as well lately Flash has been pretty much unbeatable (winning the OSL last weekend with a 3-1 walk over Movie) - especially against Zerg. But with Jaedong you never know what's going to happen - will Flash win both OSL & MSL? Or will Jaedong make it yet again?

Kennigit from teamliquid sat down with Blizzards Starcraft II Game Director Dustin Browder, whose voice you might know from the various Starcraft 2 Battle Reports, to discuss the decisions he and the SC2 development team have made and how the community was/is involved in the making of this AAA title.
“We are trying to make this game as complete – like if nobody buys any other product, this game needs to be awesome. Like if Blizzard gets hit by a meteor tomorrow and we all die, at least Starcraft 2 was awesome – that's what it needs to be.”
Head on over to teamliquid and read the full interview there.
