This bet is for you to decide the winner of Jolt CPMA TDM league (division one). Please note the fixture will close on the 1st of March to avoid working out the results/points for the clans. There is a choice of the four current favourites (admins choice) or you can vote for one of the 6 other clans, which you can find here.

Here's the four favourites with their usual match-night lineups:

Europe Nybles - drexciyian marc swelt sd tureon verkopft
Europe Leto - aggnog gellehsak nazgul payze TL
Poland Evil Unleashed - fr4gm4n dziku nep pod1 snapcase
Poland Dioxide - mess set asic pl1 dziad goblin zik

UPDATE:

GGL CPMA TDM Round 1: AOP -vs- Period (4 comments)

Bets placed: E$42803, betting open: 10:00 CST 6 Feb 2005 to 15:00 CST 8 Feb 2005

Loser:The Best Damn Clan Period, Odds: 11% (8.5:1)
Bets placed: E$1328, betting open: 10:00 CST 6 Feb 2005 to 15:00 CST 8 Feb 2005

United States of America Alliance of Pain (#2) take on United States of America The Best Damn Clan Period (#7) on February 8th @ 7EST (12GMT).

I'm kind of in the dark about both teams, rumours of gellehsak, yrim and viju not playing for AOP is going to effect them majorly, and Period not having a secure squad. With both teams completely out of practice I'm really not sure what's going to happen.

Bets placed: E$41107, betting open: 10:00 CST 6 Feb 2005 to 12:00 CST 9 Feb 2005

Loser:fLaMasters, Odds: 12% (7.8:1)
Bets placed: E$2896, betting open: 10:00 CST 6 Feb 2005 to 12:00 CST 9 Feb 2005

Europe Nobles (#3) take on Poland fLaMasters (#6) on February 9th @ 4EST (9GMT).

The team for Nobles will probably be marC, Drexciyian, zilatel (omg sexy) and swelt and for fLaMasters something like w1lko, maZat, nita and auror. Nobles will have a good ping advantage not to mention the years of experience at high level TDM, but they are missing some of their better players and haven't played seriously together for a long time. My personal view is neither team will have it easy and if fLaMasters ever wanted to beat Nobles their best chance is probably now, that is, if they can keep marC under control.

You can see the rest of the brackets here.

Bets placed: E$57380, betting open: 10:00 CST 6 Feb 2005 to 15:59 CST 14 Feb 2005

Europe Leto (#4) take on United States of America Team Darkside (#5) on February 14th @ 7EST (12GMT).

The team for leto will be something like aggnog, TL, nazgul and pez without being too biased they're probably the best team ever created EVER EVER EVER. Team Darkside will probably be playing Syn, Apheleon, reflux and Alias, with a major ping advantage (something like 100 for Leto and 30 for D|S), alot of experience together and crazy aim, Leto will have to do something quite special to win.

You can see the rest of the brackets here.

United States of America Styles Unknown (#1) take on United States of America Team Chatkill (#8) on February 7th @ 9EST (2GMT).

The team for Styles looks likely to be snapcase, kong, gradius, animalboy (and elpajuo), all having very solid aim and good powerup runners, CHK will have a team something like xfactor, iverson, deth and pinion, talented players but I'm not sure they're going to be able to step it up for Styles Unknown.

A short and sweet promode frag movie featuring some cool wtf moments and plain lucky runs from pez and myself in ctf/tdm/duel and ffa. It's very high quality so fullscreen to enjoy the flow and groovy effects to the beats of the Prodigy. The outro is dedicated to the beast swedish aim of marC B)

This is the 9th promode video of pez and unfortunately he has said that it is going to be his last for quake 3, give the guy a shoutout at his hangout #temporal on quakenet !

This movie is a promotion of the GGL CPMA 4v4 league. It features double jumps, ramps jumps, air control, bunny hopping and of course some TDM fragging action. The keystrokes function of the Defrag mod is used to help the newcomers learn the movement, and the TDM section shows off some promode gameplay. It's a fun and fast movie, running for just under 10 minutes, and should certainly be watched as a guide by anyone considering to try promode.

This is the second movie from the promode team deathmatch clan, clan leto - this time edited by the french superstar pez, who's past works include the cpm movies Haste, TriCkeD 1 and TriCkED 2. The movie showcases an assortment of tasty frags and plays from tdm, ctf, ffa and 1on1 games, all deliciously synced up with some dirty drum n' bass with various effects. Featuring the starters of leto, aggnog, gellehsak, nazgul, pez and TL, running for 11 minutes and 20 seconds.

After months of the demos collecting dust I set out this weekend to create the clan leto movie, a short and fast paced film, featuring some classy promode team deathmatch action from assorted pickups and clan matches, blended with some fruity effects and basement jaxx. It runs in at just under 4 minutes so give it a bash and tell me what you think as there may be a sequel !

This is a collection of guides and articles covering almost everything you need to know to get started in promode team deathmatch. We'll be going over some of the basics like configs and movement, and some more in-depth stuff like knowing the maps and tactics.

But before we go on you've got to have the game and mod installed; so if you haven't already, get the latest quake 3 arena point release from here and the full promode package from here, now you're all set for some team deathmatch action.

Please note this guide was originally tailored for 1.1 and since the newer release has changed some of the gameplay ideas of it, not everything will be relevant anymore.

page 1 - configs - tweaking your config for cpm
page 2 - movement - learning how to fly, literally
page 3 - basics - some handy tdm tips and tricks
page 4 - tactics - cpm4, cpm18i and cpm21 tactics
page 5 - where now ? - places to go to try out cpm tdm
page 6 - sources - shoutouts and places to visit

Theres all sorts of cool tricks from standard deathmatch, capture the flag and freestyle maps, very well edited and all synced up to the music. Well worth watching !

On the same day as his birthday sozou has officially released his third and most anticipated counterstrike movie, Hard Clan - Die Hard. He is very well known for his other excellent works such as norslund and odolinkski and this one looks set to top them both. The movie runs for 9:20 and features the respected counterstrike clan, Hard Clan. Fresh effects, superb editing and great audio are all blended in very well; this movie is truly one of the best of its kind I've ever seen.

Related to this, a good interview of sozou has recently been added at sogamed.com which reveals alot about his new movie, past movies and ideas behind his movie making skills.
What do you think the cs community will like the most about this movie and why ?
Their frags. Crazy and unusual. I felt my adrenaline rise as I watched the movie and goosebumps were constant. Watch for yourselves when it is released. Combine these frags with cool video editing = Real good movie.

this movie does feel alot longer and slower than it actually is (10:33). most of the frags are quite mediocre and they are all on rene51 + q2dm1. there's a good sequence at the end of funny frags but i'm not sure this is really worth the download.

q2central season uno (11 comments)

just so you know i'm using this journal to store my account of a q2 league that just passed so my clan can read it =) <---- excuse for using a journal and feeling desperately like a geek beyond help :D

anyway we were all pretty gutted to see the last uk q2 league die - we were already dabbling in the q3 mod threewave as a clan and came 2nd in jolt division 4 which is pretty damn good for our 1st q3 experience =)) but anyway when wireplay agreed to let q2central have servers for a new league we reformed, not really expecting much but excited nevertheless. our roster would be acid, aggnog, anat, kendo, veng and wootwoot. acid being our new french recruit oh la la .. and the rest of us have been in rage a long long painful time. this is how the story goes ..

season 1 week 1 - rfh on grom_dm3 (..screenshot)
this was one of the first times we'd play as a clan since our poopy end to sav league games 4 months ago (omg :)), and it was against rfh which wasn't ideal as we knew they were a very skilled european clan. fortunately we started out a little later than planned with 4v3 (im sure they were trying to buy time for their 4th player to arrive =]), it started out good and we seemed to break rfh's morals early in the game with doc threatening to quit server =) everyone stuck to their roles pretty well and alot of the items were picked up unchallenged. quad wasn't kept as tight as it should have been which we would pay for later, but meh we were winning :] for a long time rfh were stuck on the 19 frag mark and weren't going anywhere, but we started to become more scrappy and hardly touch quad area. and cause of that rfh started grabbing them all, but there was still a clear lead throughout and very little chance of a comeback big enough to beat us. gg =) a game that made us remember how great dm q2 is and got us motivated

season 1 week 2 - ud3 on q2cdml_2 (..screenshot)
we were slightly more prepared for this match, we had taccies and positions sorted for this (completely new to us) map and went in with high hopes knowing we were playing an hpb american clan and we had a bit of information about them. eventually after the match started our hopes were sunk after the plans to get the 1st quad were defeated. but that was only 1 of the 2 (?) quads they were going to get in the entire game =) after locking down key areas quickly it was clear to see within the first 5 minutes that we were going to win comfortably. not the best of maps balance wise, but gg

season 1 week 4 - vh on q2dm1 (..screenshot)
since we missed week3 because of odd number of clans in our division (all clans missed 1 match) it meant we spent a fair few hours revising our old dm1 tactics along with a couple of praccies. unfortunately they had us locked down from the start, near the 5 minute mark (?) veng dropped after getting totally battered and anat jumped in. the game went on, it looked like we'd get a comeback at a couple of points. occasionally mh would be held but then we'd lose it again and probably wouldn't see it again for the next couple of minutes. at around the 17 minute mark they were still at a substantial lead, and we went into "give it all you got" mode and looked as if we were going to win, bah if only we had another minute or two :) well played to vh for playing such a solid game. we knew if we won next weeks game we'd have to play vh again as we'd be tied on points, so not all hope was lost =)

season 1 week 5 - tfa on q2dm3 (..screenshot)
things were looking good for this match, we had beaten reg twice in dm3 praccy which is not often seen by us. and looking at the previous results of tfa's matches only put us in a better frame of mind. we joined the server .. waited and waited but nothing, turns out there leader wasn't about so nothing was organised, anyway we eventually got round to playing it (1 hour later =]) and things started off good with everyone clinging to their roles, i remember glancing at the scores and it was 30 - 5 something in the first 2 minutes or so. anyway things only got better, tactics worked great and much gh3y spawn raping was had (:]). tfa forgot about trying to get quad and moved over to the rail area where they did hold it very well for brief periods of the game. gg all =) .. unfortunately this was to be tfa's last ever q2 league game :( great sports for being so friendly during and after the match, if you are reading this rage wish you well =)

soooo week 6 was next sunday .. and we'd play vh again as we were tied on points, on q2dm8 + grom_dm3, and if tied unrdm1 would be the decider (/me does a very loud HMMMM) .. this is the decider to see who gets promoted to premiership division with the likes of xtc, drm, aof, v .. and you know what, we didn’t like that idea :)

season 1 week 6 - vh on q2dm8 (..screenshot)
since vh beat us by 8 last time we played them we were all evil eyed with butt raping revenge. our plan was 3 at rail and 1 at hyper with bfg .. i had to drop out due to ping problems after the first couple of minutes and veng jumped in for me .. eventually everyone scrapped the plan and everyone just ran around with rg and 200 ps :) very well played especially e and wootwoot (whore) :)

season 1 week 6 - vh on grom_dm3 (..screenshot)
now we were really in a good state of mind, a short break to get roles sorted out and we started. the first 10 minutes were pretty even, leads swapping for each quad. we found a good but blindingly obvious trick to the quad .. since quad drop is on in this league (...k) we just waited for them to collect it and then kill them just as they leave the water so we can collect it. we did this for pretty much every quad and got a good lead in no time. but VH kept the the vital rg area safe for alot of the match and still managed to get alot of good frags .. wp

division 1b champions .. have it
