Event: 125 FPS

We are proud to announce the 125 FPS Nov-Dec'14 QuakeLive Duel Season! As usual huge thanks to our sponsor Alexey A from the Moscow region and to the rest of the donators as well.

From this season on our regular league will be held within 7 weeks instead of 4 weeks as it was before. You can see weekly schedule below. Next year the League will most likely be in the same way. The league will start on the 3rd of November, more info about schedule, players, maps, invites and other things you can read on the 125fps website.

1 week: Monday Wednesday and Friday - three qualifications
2 week: Monday Wednesday and Friday - three qualifications
3 week: Group Stage 1: Tuesday group A1, Thursday group B1

First of all this will DEFINITELY be my last contribution to the quake world. Everything notable has been edited and Q3A just left my hdd.

This time it's pure cpm. Out of my own 250 "best-of" demos I ended up with the best... 70? Hence the length. Again a lot of first person mixed with occasional third person cams. I've orientated myself to movies such as Velocity and part 2 and I totally love all those power_of_heavy_metal competition movies over at youtube. They include dreamy but yet positive and energetic music combined with awesome first person runs.
Since quake is always a bit about experimenting this movie is split into two parts: Radiation 2 and Radiation 3. They are mixed together nicely with one audio track made out of releases by "Solar Fields" so that there is a straight consistency in the whole film.

So you can expect 28 minutes packed with nice records (there must be some skill being involved since 2004...), sweet shortcuts on well-known maps, those interesting map transitions you know from "MAZE" (except that they took me 5 days and not 3 years ;)), and encounters of a lot of old school maps, connected with a beautiful soundtrack. Enjoy!

Again: After a decade of Quake and Defrag I finally say farewell and hope you enjoy this last piece of mine. I thank you for all those joyful hours of gaming and it was fun to always aim for better times and beat the others. Without defrag I wouldn't be the one I am now (sounds dramatic but quake gave me for example this broad taste of music).

Huge thanks go out to Maverick who supported me by hosting IGMDb and posting news.

On youtube and here you can get the full movie meaning Radiation2 and 3 running right behind each other. You can also get part 2 and 3 singled from the download section. If you put both into a playlist they will just play fine like the full movie.

A while back the QuakeWorld players

Mushi and

Dirtbox initiated a quite ambitious project to increase the amount of QuakeWorld servers in the world. Not only did they think there should be more of them, but they have also done certain investigations as to whether there are specific locations that are particularly advantageous with regards to routing, so players in these areas can take full advantage of the re-routing feature QWfwd available in QuakeWorld. In the best cases, this can decrease the ping not only within the community, but also bridge the gap between two communities.

One example has been the start-up of some North American servers that decreased the ping to Europe. Another important recent addition, with help from

Claw, is a bunch of servers located in South America. These babies bring down the ping below 50ms between

Chile,

Argentina and

Brazil. This should be a good step to once again unite the South American players on the same battle grounds. If you're from this area, then make sure to try them out!

Quake 1 (QW) Clan Arena Tournament ! (5 comments)

Hi guys, I want to announce the upcoming 3v3 Clan Arena International Tournament in Quake1 (Quakeworld). This is the 3rd season of this prestige league and the best thing about it is that you get to play against teams from South America (Chile, Brazil, Argentina), North American Teams (USA/Canada) and of course from Europe. Why Quakeworld? Well, while it is true that the community in Quakeworld diminishes every year by a few players, there is still a decent size community that supports the game and leagues. Also, this tournament is clan arena, so if you are new to Quake and don't want to get pummeled every time you spawn, this might be a good way to learn the ropes and maybe venture into Deathmatch later on. In Clan Arena you start off with full armor and health (200armor,100health) and you start with all the weapons. Your team has to go out and kill the other team and when you do, you win that round, best of 9 wins the series, you play 4 series in total. Also the great thing about Quakeworld as compared to other games, is that when you play internationally ping is tolerable because modern servers now have antilag, which means that you can use lightning gun and boomstick as if you had low ping and this makes matches possible against teams/players that have higher ping. Also, the game is easy to download, all you have to do is go to www.nquake.com and download/install and that is it, nothing more, everything else you need is included. Our tournament consists of 6 maps. A2 (Atlantis), DM2, DM3, q1edge (quake2 map), q3dm6qw (Campgrounds-Quake3/Qlive Map), and q1_q3dm13 (Lost World-Quake3/Quakelive Map). We also are planning to have the map from quakelive called Almost Lost in there, just polishing up some spawn bugs. If you are interested, stop by irc at quakenet.org and join #qwca

I've played Halo:CE since its release on xbox. I bought it on PC when my xbox fried and I've been playing it on PC since 2003. Nearly 11 years have gone by and I'm sad to say I think I like it better on the PC and its painful to hear that the Master Chief Collection will not be released on PC :(

I know a lot of you guys have held on to quake the same way over the past decade and a half (or longer), and seen a shitload of people come and go. this is the same feeling, just a different game. although halo was not my first FPS game, it WAS the first one i got addicted to.

sorry to have to say it but i think i might have to get an xbox just to play with a large player base again :<
