Finding the best CSGO gambling sites in 2019 is not that easy. CSGO gambling has had a chequered past to say the least, with many sites being shut down and penalised because of illegal activity.

There is clearly a demand among some Counter-Strike lovers to bet on their favourite game but for the sector to be sustainable long-term, CSGO gambling sites must comply with the laws - primarily for the safety and security of esports fans but also for the sake of themselves.

New Z Live Shop (89 comments)
Posted by zoot @ 17:17 CDT, 15 June 2014 - iMsg
Hey everyone

Today on the Subscriber KotH event we unveiled merchandise that we are selling at our new shop.

As you will see on the posters written around the website, from every sale we put 10% aside to contribute to or create prizepools for QL tournaments. We'd like to be able to put money towards the Prague TDM LAN or create some Sunday tournaments that seem to be opening up (at the moment).

Currently we have deliveries set up for UK, Europe and the USA. If anyone is interested in purchases outside of those regions - please let us know through our contact page.

With this project we are trying to create at least a small level of sustainability for the team in Z Live while also offering something back to the community, other than these stylish clothes ;)

Thanks everyone

QuakeCon without John Carmack (94 comments)
Posted by Badb0y @ 07:52 CDT, 13 June 2014 - iMsg
John Carmack via twitter
"Since the question keeps getting asked -- no, I am not going to be at Quakecon this year. My 2.5 hr talk at SMU should still be released."

The talk at the Southern Methodist University took place on April 25th and has not yet been published (people.smu).

John had tweeted several times in the past he would keep his keyspeech aka techtalk at QuakeCon if Zenimax even let him. But recently Zenimax sued John for a Virtual Reality code copy (bluesnews ZeniMax vs. Oculus, Oculus responds). Who knows, if it had not been for the current action he might have gone to QuakeCon.

DMRadio to Cover XGL Xonotic 1v1 League (27 comments)
Posted by Vi0Lat0Rs @ 14:27 CDT, 12 June 2014 - iMsg
You may remember DeathMatch Radio broadcasting CPM 1v1 and WarSoW 1v1 all the way back in 2008 and more recently this past January. Unfortunately things didn't get to keep going at that time.

We would like to reannounce our presence in the 1v1 Duel community by covering the XGL North American Xonotic 1v1 Leauge.

The league plays on the weekends mostly and will be starting June 15th with coverage from various matches. Broadcast times are posted on DMRadio.net front page. The map rotation and schedule can be found on docs.google.

All coverage will be recorded and available at DMRadio.net or twitch/DMRadio1. Frag or be fragged - we're watching!

Video game conditioning (13 comments)
Posted by Brainie @ 19:25 CDT, 11 June 2014 - iMsg
The attempt of this article is to suggest an hypothesis to describe the influence of a video game such as Quake on the player's play style in other video games.

Please note that I do not have straight answers and I do not pretend to have the absolute truth in this topic. I am just passionate about video game psychology and psychology itself. However, the concepts and my experience in psychology are based on the courses I have followed as a university student. Therefore this content has to be considered as a suggestion or a hypothesis based on true concepts in psychology.

NBR: I will often use the term "Quake" as a reference to any type of Quake game so this will include Quake Live, Quake 3, and so on, as I consider these games to be very close and similar in terms of philosophy and environment.

My frags with music, tried to keep the movie simple, 3rd cam only when I found it usefull, most 1st person view as its how I like fragmovies. Music choice, matter of taste, triped on those, synchable, whatever.

The movie still contains some mistakes, rushed it a bit at the end. Do not expect much, its the best way to not be disappointed, and I hope some can enjoy it. To me it will be a nice souvenir.

Bethesda released a first short cinematic teaser trailer for the new D00M. Looks like a UAC project is slightly out of control.

On bethblog they say "we’re not ready to discuss the details of the game yet, but we’ll be sharing new info at this year’s QuakeCon event – taking place July 17-20th". Until QuakeCon i leave you with the words from bluesnews "in the meantime, that BFG could use a cleaning, space marine".

AMD's Project FreeSync (11 comments)
Posted by Oberyin @ 13:36 CDT, 7 June 2014 - iMsg
Today The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) announced that a technology called Adaptive-Sync will become standard for the DisplayPort 1.2a specification. If that sounds like gibberish to you, here’s the takeaway: It’s great news for AMD’s Project FreeSync, and for gamers seeking an alternative to Nvidia’s G-Sync.

At its heart, Adaptive Sync enables a monitor using a DisplayPort video input to match the refresh rate of the content, which tends to vary dramatically in gaming. As Nvidia showed us with G-Sync, when a GPU’s framerate output is at odds with a monitor’s refresh rate, you get artifacts like screen tearing. Forcing a fixed framerate is simply the other side of an evil coin, resulting in stutter and input lag.

“DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync enables a new approach in display refresh technology,” said Syed Athar Hussain, Display Domain Architect, AMD and VESA Board Vice Chairman. “Instead of updating a monitor at a constant rate, Adaptive-Sync enables technologies that match the display update rate to the user’s content, enabling power efficient transport over the display link and a fluid, low-latency visual experience.”

AMD’s Project FreeSync works in concert with this technology, providing adaptive framerate syncing on the driver side of things. This means that users wishing to embrace the technology will need a compatibile Radeon graphics card and a monitor supporting Adaptive-Sync. From what I understand, the advantage to AMD’s solution is that Nvidia’s G-Sync technology requires proprietary monitors with custom modules built in, while AMD’s will tap into an open industry standard. If we assume that all monitors with DisplayPort inputs going forward will utilize the standard (a safe assumption), then AMD’s solution should come at a lesser cost.

I’ve reached out to Nvidia asking if and how this development will affect G-Sync moving forward.

In the meantime, here’s a meaty Q&A from AMD’s Robert Hallock which should answer all your burning questions about Adaptive Sync, its features, and its availability.
