DreamHack is proud to present the broadcasting details and casters for the Sweden DreamHack Winter 2013 Quake Live Tournament. In partnership with FACEIT we're also proud to introduce the DreamArena CampGrounds, where up to 300 fans can watch the matches live on-site.

In the auditorium of Rydbergssalen, just next to DreamArena Extreme we'll build DreamArena Campgrounds - a dedicated arena specifically for Quake Live with the capacity of 300 people. In the arena you will be able to view matches on stage with FACEIT providing professional production together with United Kingdom zoot and United Kingdom ddk who will cast the matches. zoot and ddk will provide the coverage of the tournament together with various guest casters. With players from all around the world you can expect great interviews as well!


All the highlighted group stage matches and important playoff matches will be broadcasted through Twitch.TV in 720p. The twitch channel can be found at twitch.tv/dreamhackql.

To view the games on site will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Book your day pass or event pass through the booking site.

We're currently filling a few unfortunate drop outs from the tournament. Unfortunately Spain p0ni and Lithuania fire_bot can't make it to DreamHack and their spots will be replaced shortly.

Official announcement that United Kingdom Daniel ‘ddk’ Kapadia and United Kingdom Xavier ‘zoot’ Dharma will be casting Quakelive at this years Dreamhack Winter 2013!

There will also be a dedicated area for spectators: "Highlighted matches and all the important Playoffs matches will be broadcasted from DreamArena Campgrounds"

Rapha = Magnus Carlsen
God of Positional Play, could play his games with maximum concentration till the very end, maybe not the king of fights, but compensates it with fantastic positioning, champions attitude and therefore perfect execution in critical moments.

Evil = Garry Kasparov
God of War, probably the best fighter ever, has the most spectacular style, puts an enormous pressure on his opponents, they've even described the feeling of playing him as a Tsunami, constantly falling on their heads.

Cypher = Mikhail Tal
God of Unpredictable Moves, so talented that everything seems easy to him in game, has one of the most spectacular styles, best intuition, has nothing against drugs, i would put it that way.

Cooller = Vladimir Kramnilk
God of maneuvers and micro-advantages, the Professor of the game, could overplay anyone, but often fails to monetize on his advantage, dryed his game seriously, while moving from the attacking style to positional as the youth passes, the only one who has an edge with Kasparov-Evil. Feud with Strenx-Topalov.

Fox = Michael Adams
Bright mind, very inventive player, thinking out of the box.

Ash = Alexander Grishuk
Great technique, very strong with the initiative, but very non-pragmatic player, unstable, with champions mindset would have beaten absolutely everyone.

Guard = Hikaru Nakamura
God of no brain fierce attack, fuck yours strategic basics, fuck yours positioning, lets just fight, beatch.

Strenx = Veselin Topalov
The strengthened version of Guard, tries to play how position demands, but obviously dreams of no brain fights which lasts all the game till the very end, was even accused on cheating due to his god-like fighting skills. Feud with Cooller-Kramnik.

Czm = Paul Morphy
Fully unpredictable, obviously, one of the smartest players.

Demon = Nigel Short
Very strong fighter, in a good day could defeat everyone from elite, prefers solid "classical" play, maybe, even too solid, a little risk added in his style would made him more unpredictable for his opponents.

Tox = Tigran Petrosyan
God of Defence, unbelievable technique, prefers to win with counterattack, many believed he would achieve more if switched to more attacking style.

Dahang = Boris Spassky
Best all-round, "universal" player, incredible technique, fast flawless play, a little too good in everything to beat the very best players in something particular.

Agent = Gata Kamsky
One of the most skilled players, compensated the little lack of nature talent with thousands and thousands (and thousands) of games, squeezes his opponents to the death using micro-advantages.

Pavel = Sergey Karyakin
Great skills due to very hard work, tends to positional games, a little bit too "dry" player, always misses a tiny bit of something, seems not fully believes in himself.

Thresh = William Steinitz
The One who invented most of modern game basics, the first player with methodical approach to the game.

Hitpoint.cz is organizing a Quake Live DUEL tournament in Brno, Czech Republic which will be held on 23.- 24. 11. 2013. Since the last post I received a few questions so I decided to clarify them and give you more info about the tournament.


the qualifier:

We are moving the deadline to Monday 11.11. 23:59 CET.
We are removing the ELO restriction. However we'll decide which players will get seeded.
The qualifier will be played on Tuesday 12.11. from 18:00 CET. Check-in at @QuakeNet #hitpoint.cz
If there's under 8 signed up players after the deadline we'll pick 4 of the signed up players ourselves.

In the previous Sunday Cup we saw Belarus Cypher take his fourth victory in five cups, showing an impressive form before DreamHack Winter. This time he took down a strong Sweden tox in a tense grand final.

This Sunday at 08:00 CST, the FACEIT Fall Season Sunday Cup #6 will take place, where you can see all your favorite players in action.

The FACEIT Fall Season will be played each Sunday for the coming month, where 128 players can join and play for $125, as well as points to qualify them for the Finale.

Commentary this week will be provided by our host, United Kingdom Daniel "ddk" Kapadia, joined by guests over distance. The stream will go live on FACEIT TV at 08:30 CST.

We are excited to announce that QUAKE LIVE will be transitioning out of a web browser and into a standalone, downloadable game by the end of this year.

Over the past few years, browser support for plugins such as QUAKE LIVE have dropped off significantly, causing problems for plugins to operate in a consistent and working manner. With the recent announcement of Google Chrome's roadmap to turning off plugin support and the upcoming changes in Firefox, it seems that now is the time to make the transition.

Once we go live with this change, you will log in to the site as you normally would. From there you will be presented with a prompt to download the new QUAKE LIVE Launcher. The launcher will automatically keep your game up to date before loading. Once inside, you’ll will be greeted with the website, embedded directly into the game itself. From here, the interface will look and operate similarly to how it does today, but the game will already be running and ready to connect to a match.

This change will allow us to have greater control over the game environment, and more tightly integrate the game with the online components going forward. Some of these benefits will be apparent from day one: getting in and out of games is a smoother experience, and you will be able to view server pings from the match browser before joining the game to better judge connection quality.

To help answer some of your questions, we’ve provided an FAQ below.

I'm not moviemaker + I made the movie in 3 days = sorry for this quality. oops.

For this movie was used ~60% of tricks on wintersedge. All tricks made by creative. Thx green for some help (tricks with team mate).
