The "Government Shutdown SHOWDOWN" series is a series of 2vs2 Quakeworld Clan Arena Single-Elimination Tournaments that will begin on Thursday and conclude on Friday evenings at 6:00pm pacific on US QWCA servers. After the tournament ends on Friday evening, you are free to have a beer with your wingman and fellow Aviators...or Quakeworld Rangers as you may call it.

There really is no difference between a Quakeworld Player and a Naval Aviator. There is the longitudinal, or "roll" axis, there is the lateral, or "pitch" axis, and then there is the vertical, or "yaw" axis. Do you have what it takes to maximize control of your entity, be it a quakeworld ranger or jet aircraft, in a 3D dynamic environment? We'll see. There is only one piece of advice...Never leave your wingman...

The Summer is past us and we are ready to kick off the FACEIT Fall Season! Starting on Sunday at 07:00 CST, the FACEIT Fall Season Sunday Cup #1.

The FACEIT Fall Season will be played each Sunday for the coming month, where 128 players can join and play for $125, as well as points to qualify them for the Finale.

Commentary this week will be provided by our host, United Kingdom Daniel "ddk" Kapadia, joined by Switzerland Gioacchino "Memento_Mori" Noris. The stream will go live on FACEIT TV at 07:30 CST.

We have adjusted the map pool, to be in line with other events. See the map list below.

It's been two months since the last Esportsfrance interview and it is now time for more. We thought it would be a good idea to ask some question of none other than Russia Alexander "Latrommi" Dolgov, the rising star of the Russian TDM scene for a year or so now. He has also been victorious two weeks ago of the Prague TDM LAN event with his team 'deliberate murder'.

In this interview, Alexander tells us about his life, his Quake career, which he started as a child, his mouse sensitivity, Prague tournament, opinions on TDM strategy, deliberate murder, and more.
France Esportsfrance: The deliberate murder project seems to be one of the most successful thing that happened to QuakeLive in the recent years. Can you tell us how you joined the team and what you think about what they are doing ?

Russia Latrommi: It was a regular Russian #tdmpickup draft, the first one for me. At that time, I had already gain a lot of experience from Russian TDM pickups and my main objective was to beat somebody from 102. Like me, they were also captains, so we just randomly picked up some players and started to play. As far as I remember, there were about 14 teams or so. I dont want to go into details, but during this competition I won mt_CTAPOCTA, 421 and the last match was against pavel_, where I won his team by 1 epic frag (Dreadful Place). All games were streamed by cooke and green, so on the next day they invited me to join the clan...

As a warm up for the Swedish Championship of Quake Live we will be hosting a series of showmatches between some of the signed up players. First up is a best of 7 between Sweden Fazz and Sweden Spartie for 50 EUR.

The game will be casted by United Kingdom Zoot and Portugal Ins on their Twitch channel Zootlive. The latest information about the showmatches and the main event can be found on QuakeSM.se.

With the summer holidays finally over and with all our TDM friends back from Prague, we are glad to annouce a new #tdmpickup draft tournament.

The 7th edition of the #tdmpickup Draft Tournament will be played on Sunday, at 10:00 CDT, 6 October 2013. Signups will start at 09:00 CDT, 6 October 2013 and will last for one hour.

As usual, all players are invited to participate. Teams will be created automatically from the pool of all signed up players. Remember, each player has to play at least 10 TDM pickups prior to the tournament. So if you aren't ranked already, start playing pickups today! Have fun!

From Monday to Saturday we have our daily FACEIT Cups with several Duel levels, Clan Arena, CTF and TDM, plus a different Premium Cup on every week day!

On Saturday we have 3 Premium Cups with higher points prizes. These points can be exchanged for prizes, such as Razer gear in the FACEIT Shop.

Sunday will see the start of the FACEIT Fall Season, with the first Sunday Cup, after evil won the Summer Season last Sunday. Commentary will be provided on FACEIT TV, with casting by ddk and Memento_Mori.
