I would like to make a new CPM duel tournament for the upcoming year, CPM FightClub 2013 Series: from the players to the players. The format would be scheduled for 2 cups per month, with a hypothetical LAN party at WZZRD gaming cafι as we have been planing since summer (depending of how many people are willing to go).

This would be the whole schedule:



The red dots highlight the weeks when each edition would take place, July and August are the months available for the LAN (in case it is going to take place in August, we can make two more editions in July).

For the starting edition, we might have prize money for the 1st place and some beta keys for the 2nd and 3rd. I’m gonna try to set up a donations page for the LAN tournament, we might get interesting prizes this way.

I’ll make a post about CPM FightClub #1 ASAP, hope there is going to be enough interest to keep my motivation up, besides, anyone who’s interested in helping me out with dirty admin stuff just let me know and of course streamers/casters who would like to take part of this are very, very welcome. Any kind of work would be awesome, a logo for this tournament series or simply spread the word! We've already done a test tournament not so long ago and

The Edge:

Built for the new year is QUAKE LIVE's new version of The Edge. This version has been built off the original Quake II source, providing an authentic Edge-xperience, with a Strogg-inspired theme new to QUAKE LIVE. While the gameplay remains largely similar, elimination based game modes feature a teleporter inspired by the Quake 1 version of the arena: a two way portal in between the catwalks near the Rocket Launcher, and the Railgun room, to discourage those looking to wait out the around in solitude. The Edge takes the place of Winter's Edge, and will be available through the new year.

Warehouse:

Also making its QUAKE LIVE debut is Quake II's Warehouse. The Strogg have seen fit to retrofit a recently taken military warehouse to process and manufacture Stroyent for the Strogg war machine. A hidden Battle Suit at the end of the conveyor belt awaits those up along the top of the facility, but be careful of being crushed, and recently installed decontaminating lasers. A few new tricks and spaces have been opened up since this warehouse was last visited, creating new routes for combat veterans who have fought here before. Warehouse is also available through the new year.

Left Behind:

Left Behind is a new Strogg-themed Team Deathmatch arena created by Ferdinand 'cityy' List. Left Behind offers lot of nooks and jumps to skip around areas to best fit your strategy. The central area features a large rock hanging over lava, so some caution is required when speeding around the rooms, especially when playing with PQL. Left Behind is also more than suitable for Clan Arena modes.

Cold Cathode (CTF):

Rounding out this update is a new Capture the Flag arena, created by cityy and Phantazm11. Cold Cathode is certainly a cool looking map, both literally due to the snow, and also from the fluorescent light beams that wrap around the arena. Defenders have a Yellow Armor, Megahealth, and Red Armor well within their reach, but will have to lose sight of their flag in order to grab them. Flag carriers have ample opportunity to run, and outmaneuver chasing defenders by switching routes. Teams will want to defend the alternating Regeneration and Quad Damage between the bases to most effectively aid their offense.

13 Dec: The one true Quake Legend by Warrant

In this stage, players will be able to apply for the position of team captain for their respective nations. They can do this, by using the designated menublock on the right side of the cup page.

Please keep in mind that your application should be well motivated. All players will be able to see who applied for their own nation by using the menublock, mentioned above. This stage will run until 6th of January. No applications will be taken into consideration after this day.

Once all the applicants are known, players will be able to vote for their favourite candidate. There are few details to which we would like you to pay special attention. First of all, once you have voted, you cannot vote again or change your previous vote. Second, an applicant cannot vote for himself and third, when voting, you will be asked to motivate your vote. We would like to ask you to take this seriously.

All votes are kept anonymous. This stage will run until the 13th of January . In the end, the cup supervisors will determine the captains.

After the votes have been taken into consideration, the cup supervisors will announce all team captains on Wednesday 16th of January.

We again are using the voting system to elect national team captains. The system is very simple: Anyone who would like to apply as captain for his nation can fill in the short application form which appears on the menublock on the right hand side of each cup. Of course, you are still expected to gather enough support from the community - just instead of documented support, you will have to achieve it on the voting process on ClanBase.
The first stage for applying as captains will close on Sunday, 6th of January. The next stage will be the voting process - which will commence once the captains signups have closed. This section will end on Sunday, 13th of January. Any user is able to vote only one time for one candidate. The voting process is anonymous to ensure a safe election. In some cups we may close the signups a bit earlier if we see there are no new candidates and/or that a substantial amount of votes have been cast.
At the final stage the selected captain will be chosen by the cup supervisors with the help of the National Team Managers. They will be chosen according to the support (votes and comments), application and record of the applicant. Previous season captains don't get selected automatically and still have to apply. The captains announcement for each cup will be on Wednesday, 16th of January.

We will again be cooperating with the National Team Managers this season. In case you are new or if you have forgotten already - the task of the National Team Manager is to maintain and establish a competitive list of squads which will participate in the NationsCups by monitoring the different captains, teams and acting as a link between the teams and the CB Crew where needed.
We are currently processing the applications we have received and will be adding a few new Managers in the course of next week. We are glad to see many have also stayed with us for yet another season after doing it successfully last time. You can see who is your own National Team Manager in here.
As last time, we will use only one clan for each nation this season as well. If you are elected as team captain - contact your team Manager to be added to the national clan.

The rules for who is allowed to play or not have not been majorly altered since the last season. Players are still only allowed to play for a nation if they have the nationality of it. We will take severe measures against any player, captain or team which have a hand in faking nationalities.
Like in the previous season, we have set the date for a clan to be considered as "active" for the 3 player rule to the first day of the OpenCup/EuroCup Fall Season. This year this date is: 8th of October 2012. More about the rule can be found in our NationsCups Rules FAQ. Exceptions may apply after consulting with the Supervisors of the cup.
