Hello everyone. Here is an interview with Netherlands Baksteen I did last week. The interview covers many questions, his career, his duel progression, the Adroits LAN and his future in QuakeLive. Some questions have already been answered in the previous Baksteen interview by Germany twister - I didn't see that interview before I did mine actually...

Esportsfrance: Do you think there is room for young players - like you or lukelawlz for instance - to reach the top 4 ? Will Cypher, rapha, Av3k or k1llsen always be on the top if they keep playing ?
Baksteen: I don't think they will, beside the fact they're getting older and won't peak anymore, even they make mistakes, so if new players train really hard, and find some new style to counter the old pro's, they can be defeated. I think burnedd was one of those players, but unfortunately he went inactive.

As previously announced, we want to continue with the series of new duel maps tournaments. On Wednesday this week, it will be the turn of Sinister, by Germany Mike "Yellack" Schreiber and United Kingdom Gary "akm" Turner. The cup will feature a cup_gold 100 $ sponsored by France Kevin "Strenx" Baeza's Project. The tournament will run on the CSN platform, and Targetquake will provide coverage and admins to run the cup.

After last week's win by evil, FACEIT Sunday Cup #6 is coming up. The tournament will start at 09:00 CDT, with check-ins opening at 08:00 CDT. Sign-ups are already open.

Everyone is allowed to enter the competition, whether you have a high or low level. Casting will, as you are used to by now, be provided by United Kingdom Xavier "Zoot" Dhorne and United Kingdom Daniel "ddk" Kapadia. The map pool will again be the same seven as at DreamHack Winter.

How i get it:
1. make cfg with one temp handy bind:
bind mouse5 "kick all; bot_pause 0; wait 10; addbot keel; addbot keel;addbot keel;addbot keel;addbot keel;addbot keel; addbot keel; addbot keel; addbot keel; addbot keel; addbot keel; addbot keel; wait 10; bot_pause 1"
2. start practice match against bots at any map with maximum total players
3. /devmap terminatria (devmap needs for bot_pause 1 - bot stays at spawn)
4. exec cfg
4. spectate (freecam) and press that bind.

After one and a half week of voting for the game type of our infected cups, we couldn't decide between 4v4 and 2v2 TDM. We created a final voting now that will run till monday.

Choose between the two team sizes here and lets see what will make it!

After that you'll need to decide over the map pool!

Today House of Quake opens the sign-ups for yet another Quake Live TDM 4v4 League.

We will try to give you a fair and fun season with around 10 teams per divisions and straightforward TDM league with the usual high quality games and competition. Make sure to sign up before the 15th of November; the league will start on the 22nd.


We will do our best to get the highlight matches streamed by Level Up or HoQ.tv. Thursday evening is TDM evening!

To celebrate Halloween FACEIT are opening up sign-ups for our Elo cups again, this time starting in the afternoon at 09:00 CDT. Check-ins open again at 08:00 CDT.

As on Tuesday, we will again host a cup for players up to Level 4, 6 and 8, named Noobie, Rookie and Veteran respectively. The prizes, rules and rankings will work the same as on Tuesday, but if you want to freshen up your mind, look below.

We would like to take this opportunity to first mention a few things about this event. This is an event that we agreed to do for the charity involved, since it is something that we all enjoy doing. Which is relaxing and forgetting about the day we had or the stresses that we endured. The Operation Supply Drop Charity does just that it ships games to troops overseas so they can relax and forget about the real world for awhile where they put there lives on the line for us simple folk here at home.

The main reason we are hosting this charity is we were approached by the Charisma+2 Agency to host a online QuakeLive tournament and since Quake is one of the longest running FPS games out there we thought it was a great idea and wanted to show our support for the charity and the event. Charisma+2 has been supporting the OSD Charity for seven separate events so far. For more information on some of the other events that the C+2 Agency will be holding across the country that day check out the Charisma+2 Magazine.

So if your interested in playing against a few models and maybe winning some great prizes then sign on up and donate five dollars to the OSD Charity!!
