Cybsum announce four teams (36 comments)

The Cyberathlete Summit will featuring six of the best teams from around the globe. Four of those teams have been announced.

On 23 and 24 June Cybsum will take place in Paris, France and give away 8 100€ in prizes. A total of six teams will be invited to the tourney. Three international teams and three French teams. One will be decided this evening via the TwitchTV E3 Tournament, where YouTube Money will play Mercenary Ops in the grand final (coverage here).

Today, however, four teams have already been announced. Millenium already announced their new team featuring Strenx, Cypher and Av3k and they have of course been invited to attend. The other teams are 3 Old Men and colwn, featuring Quake legends and LDLC, with Counter-Strike players.

We received a lot of complains from the newer and not so experienced players in Quake Live during our last few cups, so we'll organize another Duel Cup but this time for players only below 1400 dueling Elo points! (referring to QLRanks). The first edition takes place on European servers. You can already sign up, and make sure to have a stay on IRC at #infectedGaming while the cups proceeds. Of course you can participate at the regular duel cup to get a higher challenge, but if you lose in the first rounds you can try out this one and maybe you'll win! So even if you have above 1400 ELO points but you lose in the first round of the infected Duel Cup, you'll get a seat in this cup. Have fun & enjoy your time!

Last Saturday we decided to use a double-bracket since we only received 16 sign-ups. And 3 polish totally dominated this cup!

penicylina was beaten by

PYTON and reached the third place. But

PYTON wasn't able to defeat

LeSzNy, who made his direct way over the winner bracket to the finals. The sixth edition takes place on European servers and all players of all skill levels are welcome! You can already sign up, and make sure to have a stay on IRC at #infectedGaming while the cups proceeds. Again you need to help us: Last time you voted for 2 additional maps for the mappool. But T4 and Hektik reached the same amount of votes. Now it's again by you, which map will be played in the future. Here you can find the poll. If you lose, don't worry! There will be a Beginners Cup at Sunday!

After the show yesterday with The GD Studio hosted by

Trance we got to know the groups for this years perhaps best Quake Live duel tournament!

Unfortunately

Cooller decided to drop out just minutes before the show was about to air. But a substitute was found very quickly, the moviemaker and cpm player

mccormic.

zoot took the matter in own hands and remade the seeds, to prevent any further mistakes (like redoing the groups). Sorry for the confusion during the show, but it was all for the best of the tournament. The new seeds can be found below:

MLTDM is back for it's 14th iteration of no holds barred fragging! Depending on the turnout of signups, the draft will be held in 2-3 weeks (look for a future annoucement). The season will feature a 3 week round-robin regular season amongst 2 divisions. This will be followed by a 4th week of interdivision play to determine playoff seedings and exhibition matches for those teams out of contention. A single elimination playoff series with the top 2 teams (4 total) from each division advancing will start in week 5.

We are pleased to announce that the long awaited video finally arrived! Several remakes and lots of changes tried to hold it back from the release but we fought the war and now its here.

The video is featuring

Kévin "strenx" Baéza, one of the best Quake Live players in the competitive scene. Following the worlds fashion of videos, he decided to get the video made in 3D, making it the first QuakeLive frag video ever made! Hope you'll enjoy the video! :)

The video is brought to you by

Ákos "F-X" Ujfalusi who captured and edited most of the scenes to perfectly match the song and flow. The 3D slow-motion animations, the outro, color correcting and rendering were done by

Péter "mccormic" Kerülö. An other important member of the team is the creator of WolcamQL who is still hiding his full name but has a well known nickname,

Brugal! He implemented the 3D capturing feature specially for this movie, so without him this all wouldn't be possible. We would also like to thank to

Joe Goss for providing the high quality visor model for the animations and for

Jeremy "SHRAPN3LS" Bitton for his support for beta testing.

Unfortunately we did have a few unexpected drop outs from the tournament. As many of you have heard

Stermy will not be able to attend since he's attending to the ShootMania LAN in France. Neither can

gerppa but because of other reasons.

As replacements we've found a bunch of Swedish players:

Hipnotic. There's still one spot open in the tournament, all the replacements we've currently asked no one of them was able to go. So if you're still interested in going contact us either through mail (esport@dreamhack.se) or

The applications for the beta test of Shootmania Storm have been opened for a little while already, but the game still hasn't reached that phase.

Anyway, the guys from Nadeo just offered us, the ESReality community, a few keys to participate in the Alpha test of their coming game. Of course, we don't have an unlimited amount of keys for you all and we will have go through a selection.

If you are interested, please write a message (in English and comments in this news won't be considered!) and tell us about you, your achievements and projects in the community and why you'd want in the alpha test! Deadline is set for Sunday 3rd June at midnight CEST.
