Quake 1 clan Suddendeath held an invitational duel tournament featuring their duel players, who also happen to be some of the finest duellers around. They fought for strength, honor, and five hundred Swedish kroner!

I recorded and casted some of the quarterfinals, and both semifinals as well as the grand final. Check it out the VODs!

The Grande Finale of the CSN playQUAKELIVE series will be held this Sunday, 18:00 CST, 13 November 2011. The bracket features the top 2 players in America - United States of America rapha and United States of America ZeRo4, as well as chance, rey, mavlp and coveryfire.

$400 is up for grabs in this final Cup in the playQUAKE Points Cups series. And making a come back to Quake coverage for the first time in over a year is none other than the crew from One More Game TV - United States of America djWHEAT and United States of America Slasher!!

Will we see a rematch of rapha vs ZeRo4 from Cup #2 (VOD)??? Or will we see a challenge from the other four participants? Be sure to tune in and find out.

CPM 1v1 Kenya Maps Cup Over! (61 comments)

After a long night of cpma CPM action the Kenya Maps Cup is over. However, when the dust settled, only one remained victorious. We had some great, entertaining games, but experienced also a few difficulties. The brackets were shit, one of the admins was cheating and the servers were lagging. Quite a few upsets were seen, as the Bulgarian powerhouses Bulgaria wuxia and Bulgaria Nzr0 shared the 5th place and Finland LuGia was knocked out in just 4 maps.


I would like to thank all of the participants and the spectators for taking part. Special thanks go to lvl2 Level Up TV and the shoutcasters United Kingdom nVc, United Kingdom Drexciyian and Germany nekon, Germany HellTiger, Sweden blaze and Switzerland myT.

After realizing how rewarding hosting a cup can be, we will definitely host more CPM cups in the future, so stay tuned!

If you played in the CPM 1v1 Kenya Maps Cup last night and you got that once-in-a-lifetime rail flick or something similar, send your frags to me ( gaiiaxx 'at' gmail 'dot' com ) and I will make a fragmovie, in the style of "Top10 Frags of the Kenya Maps Cup".

derQuaker interviewed Germany Philipp "reload" Kotecki, who will be participating in the upcoming DHW 2011 Duel Tournament. He talks about his training, future goals and his DreamHack invitation. Here is a snippet:

Germany reload: Surely he will be happy about it, but you have to negotiate with sponsors if you need money for traveling and the hotel. The Dreamhack is not my first offlineevent, 2 years ago I took part at a warsow-tournament in Paris, which I won :) during my Quakelive career I only took part on german offline events, but because of that, the Dreamhack will be exiting and I always wanted to visit the Dreamhack.

DHW: Duel tournament full and TDM update (313 comments)

With less than two weeks left before the DreamHack Winter 2011 kicks off with two awesome tournaments it's time to announce all the players and teams attending. Seeds for the duel tournament will be released together will the final TDM update next week. The sign up time for TDM has yet not expired, so if you want to go don't hesitate to send in an application before Wednesday (17/11).

The last duel spots will go to Portugal Insan3, Sweden madix, Belgium dem0n and all the way from Australia Australia Ventz. I think it's also noteworthy that the grand final for the duel tournament will be played in the brand new DreamHack AMD SAPHIRE Arena. Which will be inside the hockey arena just next to the DreamHack venue. The Quake Live Duel final will be played just before the StarCraft 2 final, so I expect all the 4 000 seats to be filled!
Currently we have 6 TDM teams signed up, but I expect us to get around 10-12 teams until the sign up time runs out.

Gabe Newell from Valve has announced that the database and forums of Steam have been hacked.

According to Valve, this happened earlier this week and investigations led to evidence that the hackers had obtained access to the Steam database. This means the hackers might have acquired your credit card informations if you have registered one on Steam, Valve advises you to keep an eye on your credit card activity.

The fourth installment to the epic Event Horizon Quake 3 team tricking movies. Event Horizon is a group of trick jumpers of unparalleled praise with an illustrious record, including having debuted videos at QuakeCon. Production of EH4 was a 2 year process.
